Pneumatic tire

In a pneumatic tire, a single block includes a first sipe and a second sipe each extending in a tire width direction and disposed at a predetermined pitch in a tire circumferential direction. The first sipe and the second sipe include a first sipe portion that has a linear form when the block is viewed planarly, and a second sipe portion that has a zigzag shape when the block is viewed planarly and that connects to the first sipe portion. The first sipe portion includes a pair of sipe wall faces that face each other and have a linear form when viewed as a cross-section from a direction perpendicular to a sipe length direction, and includes a protrusion disposed on a first face of the sipe wall faces and a recess disposed on a second face of the sipe wall faces so as to mate with the protrusion.

A tread design for a tire is described herein that has excellent wear properties, hydroplaning resistance, and snow grip. The combination of features also makes it suitable for use in high torque high load conditions found in modern day light truck applications. The tread includes a plurality of tread features lateral sipes, lateral grooves, longitudinal sipes and longitudinal grooves, the longitudinal grooves arranged to form a plurality of ribs, each rib extending annularly around the tread and where adjacent ribs are separated by one of the longitudinal grooves, the plurality of ribs including a pair of shoulder ribs and a plurality of central ribs. At least two of the plurality of central ribs is continuous in the longitudinal direction and are separated by a bridged longitudinal groove. The center section of the tire tread having a higher CSR than the shoulder region of the tire.

Tire sipe for heavy truck tread having handlebar shape

A heavy truck tire tread that has a rib is provided. A sipe is in the rib that extends from a first lateral surface to a second lateral surface. A first end of a teardrop is located at the first lateral surface, and a second end at the second lateral surface. A middle section of the teardrop is located between the first and second ends in the lateral direction. A first transition is located between the first end and the middle section, and a second transition is located between the second end and the middle section and they both extend in the lateral and thickness directions. The entire middle section is farther from the upper surface in the thickness direction than any portion of the first or second ends are to the upper surface in the thickness direction.

Commercial vehicle tyre

The invention relates to a commercial vehicle tire having a tread with at least one profile rib which runs in encircling fashion in a circumferential direction, is arranged laterally with respect to the tire equatorial plane and has sipes extending through it, which sipes each have sipe walls, a sipe midplane spaced apart equally from the sipe walls, a width of 0.4 mm to 2.0 mm and a maximum depth in a radial direction of at least 40% of the profile depth, wherein each sipe, at least in a portion which runs over the predominant part thereof as seen in plan view, has at least one sipe zone which is offset in relation to the radially outer sipe periphery and which runs in an extent direction of the sipe in an undulating form and in arcuate or singly serrated form in a radial direction, wherein a plane running through the point of the maximum excursion of the sipe zone has a line of intersection with the sipe midplane, which line of intersection follows the undulating form of the sipe zone.

A tread pattern of a pneumatic tire includes three or more circumferential main grooves extending in a tire circumferential direction, a land portion defined by the circumferential main grooves, and a sipe provided in the land portion. At least one edge of edges on both sides of the land portion in a tire width direction is a zigzag edge. The zigzag edge has a zigzag shape with recesses/protrusions that has a position periodically changing in the tire width direction. The sipe is a composite sipe including a two-dimensional portion and a three-dimensional portion, and the three-dimensional portion is connected to the zigzag edge.
