Stabilizer structure for a tread of a tire

A tread for a tire includes a first circumferential main groove, a second circumferential main groove, a third circumferential main groove, and a fourth circumferential main groove. The fourth main groove has a stabilizing structure for increasing tread stiffness. The stabilizing structure has a circumferentially extending subgroove in a radially innermost bottom of the fourth circumferential main groove. The subgroove is axially offset a predetermined amount from a centerline of the fourth circumferential main groove.

A tire comprises a tread provided with two edges (25A, 25B) and with a center (C) dividing it into two parts of equal width with sets of blocks (21A, 21B). Each set of blocks (21A, 21B) comprises three zones: at the edge (211), at the center (213) and intermediate (212). Each set of blocks (21A, 21B) comprises a set of chamfers (26A, 26B, 26C) which extends over at least the edge zone (211) and the central zone (213) of the set of blocks (21A, 21B). The width LC1 of the set of chamfers (26A, 26B, 26C) over the edge zone (211) is different from the width LC2 of the set of chamfers (26A, 26B, 26C) over the intermediate zone (212), the widths LC1 and LC2 being comprised between 0.5 mm and 2.5 mm.

TIRE COMPRISING A TREAD

A tire comprises a directional tread provided with two edges (25A, 25B) and with a center (C) dividing it into two parts of substantially equal width. The tread comprises, on one of these two parts, blocks (21A, 21B) succeeding one another in a circumferential direction. Each block (21A, 21B) has a leading-edge face (26) and a trailing-edge face (27). The tire comprises, for at least one set of blocks (21A, 21B), at least one set of cavities (29) extending over the trailing-edge face (27) of the set of blocks (21A, 21B). The tread has a bottom surface (24) radially on the inside of the tread, the set of blocks (21A) having a height H, wherein the set of cavities (29) is between the bottom surface (24) of the tread and half of the height H.

Each widthwise sipe includes a widened portion, by the sipe bottom, with a larger sipe width than at the tread surface. A rectangle ratio is 0.8 or more. Each widthwise sipe extends at a first angle relative to the tire width direction in plan view of the tread surface. In a tire radial region containing the widened portion, the widened portion extends at a second angle smaller than the first angle relative to the tire width direction, or partially extends along the tire width direction.

The widthwise sipe is connected to the circumferential sipe or the hole, the widthwise sipe includes a first widened portion, on a sipe bottom side, at which a sipe width is larger than on the tread surface side, the circumferential sipe includes a second widened portion, on a sipe bottom side, at which a sipe width is larger than on the tread surface side, and the hole, the first widened portion, and the second widened portion are connected.

A tread (12) for a heavy truck tire is provided that has a bottom surface (14), a shoulder rib (16), and a sacrificial rib (20) located outboard from the shoulder rib (16) in a width direction. A decoupling void (30) is located between the shoulder rib (16) and the sacrificial rib (20). A decoupling void sipe (32) is in the shoulder rib (16) and opens at the shoulder rib upper surface (18) and at the decoupling void (30). The decoupling void sipe (32) extends in the thickness direction and is closer to the bottom surface (14) than the decoupling void (30) in the thickness direction.

The width LC2 of the set of chamfers (26A, 26B, 26C) over the intermediate zone (212) is different from the width LC3 of the set of chamfers (26A, 26B, 26C) over the central zone (213), said widths LC2 and LC3 being comprised between 0.5 mm and 2.5 mm.

Commercial vehicle tire of radial design with a tread with circumferential grooves formed to a profile depth, which divide the tread into at least two profile ribs (1) running in the central region of the tread with profile blocks (2) separated from one another by transverse grooves (3) and into shoulder-side profile ribs, wherein at least one of the circumferential grooves (4) adjoining a central profile rib (1) has, in cross section, a radially outer sipe-like narrow section (6) and a channel (8) adjoining this in the interior of the tread which is configured to be wider than the sipe-like narrow section (6) and which is delimited by two channel walls (8b) and a channel bottom (8a) forming the groove bottom, and wherein this circumferential groove (4) is interrupted in its course by entry points of transverse grooves (3).

Opposite the entry points, a projection (9, 9′) is formed locally in each case on the channel wall (8b) located opposite the entry points of the transverse grooves (3).

PNEUMATIC TIRE FOR A VEHICLE

A pneumatic vehicle tire, in particular utility vehicle tire, having a tread which has a directional profiling with shoulder-side and middle profile ribs running in a circumferential direction, wherein at least one of the middle profile ribs (1), which is in particular a profile rib running along the tire equator, is traversed in an axial direction by sipes (4) with a width (b.sub.1) of 0.5 mm to 1.2 mm, each of which has a central portion (4a), in which the sipe (4) runs with an undulation in the direction of extent thereof, and two lateral portions (4b). The sipes (4) extend, in plan view, in an arc shape and symmetrically with respect to the centerline of the profile rib (1), and, in the lateral portions (4b) and in the central portion (4a), have a uniform undulation running in the radial direction, on which the undulation present in the extent direction of the sipes (4) is superposed only in the central portion (4a) of the sipe (4).
