Pneumatic tire

A tire is a tire in which circumferential grooves, and lug grooves comprising opening portion in tread end and which extend in the tread width direction from the tread end to the circumferential groove, are formed. Projection parts are provided in the groove bottom of the circumferential grooves. The projection parts extend from one side wall forming a circumferential groove to the other side wall opposite the one side wall. Multiple lug grooves are formed at predetermined intervals in the circumferential direction. In the tread surface view of the tire, given points of intersection as the points at which a circumferential groove extension that passes through a circumferential groove intersects with a lug groove extension that passes through a lug groove, the projection parts are provided between a first point of intersection and a second point of intersection adjacent to the first point of intersection in the circumferential direction.

Molding element for manufacturing a noise reducing tread

The molding element has a molding surface for forming a contact face of the contacting elements and a groove forming rib portion for forming the groove. The groove forming rib portion has opposed rib side faces for forming opposed groove side faces and a rib top face connecting the rib side faces for forming a groove bottom. The groove forming rib portion provides at least one space opening to at least one of the rib side faces and/or to the rib top face and an insert is received in the space. The insert is composed of a plurality of thin plates stacked in a direction along which the rib extends and comprises at least one notched plate of thickness t1 including at least one notch for forming a flexible fence of the closing device; and comprises at least one support plate of thickness t2 without notch.

A circumferential groove has a groove bottom and a pair of groove walls. Groove bottom includes groove bottom protruding portions protruding radially outwardly from a groove bottom reference surface and having a first groove bottom surface extending radially. The first groove bottom surface includes a first surface portion on one side of a center line of the circumferential groove and a second surface portion positioned on the other side, and an angle between them is 20° to 170°. The groove wall includes groove wall protruding portions protruding toward an inside of the circumferential groove from a groove wall reference surface defined as a circumferential surface at a widest groove width position of the circumferential groove and having a first groove wall width surface 12 extending in a tyre width direction and a second groove wall surface having an angle larger than the first groove wall width surface.

A groove bottom is formed symmetrically about a center line of a circumferential groove in a tread plan view and includes groove bottom protruding portions protruding radially outwardly from a groove bottom reference surface parallel to a tread surface at a deepest position of a groove depth. Groove bottom protruding portions have a first groove bottom surface extending radially and a second groove bottom surface having an angle larger than the first groove bottom surface. Groove walls include groove wall protruding portions protruding toward an inner side of the circumferential groove from a groove wall reference surface as a circumferential surface at a widest position of a groove width. The groove wall protruding portions each has a first groove wall width surface and a second groove wall surface having an angle larger than the first groove wall width surface.

A tire comprises a tread portion having at least one main groove extending in a zigzag manner in a tire circumferential direction. The main groove includes first inclined portions and second inclined portions arranged alternately in the tire circumferential direction. The first inclined portions are inclined in a first direction and the second inclined portions are inclined in a second direction opposite to the first direction with respect to the tire circumferential direction. A length of each of the first inclined portions is larger than a length of each of the second inclined portions. The main groove is provided in a groove bottom thereof with projecting portions extending in a groove width direction of the main groove. The projecting portions includes first projecting portions arranged in the first inclined portions.

A tire is provided with multiple projection parts in a groove bottom of a groove portion. The projection parts extend from one side wall to the other side wall opposed to the one side wall, the side walls forming the groove portion. The projection parts are arranged at predetermined intervals in the groove portion. A relationship of 0.75L≦P≦10L is satisfied where L denotes a length of the projection parts and P denotes the predetermined intervals. In addition, a relationship of TWf/cos θf≦0.9W is satisfied where W denotes a groove width of the groove, TWf denotes a width of the projection parts, and θf denotes an angle formed by an extending direction of the projection parts and a groove center line in a direction opposite to a rotation direction of the tire in a tread face view of the tire.

A tire includes a tread having a crown main groove and shoulder main grooves extending in the tire circumferential direction. The crown groove has crown long side portions and crown short side portions inclined in the opposite directions and alternately formed in a zigzag shape extending in the tire circumferential direction, the shoulder main grooves have shoulder long side portions and shoulder short side portions inclined in the opposite directions and alternately formed in a zigzag shape extending in the tire circumferential direction, the crown main groove and shoulder main grooves are formed such that a crown long-short ratio La/Lb is larger than a shoulder long-short ratio Lc/Ld, where La is a length of each crown long side portion, Lb is a length of each crown short side portion, Lc is a length of each shoulder long side portion, and Ld is a length of each shoulder short side portion.

The invention is directed to a pneumatic vehicle tire having a tread with profile positives which are separated from one another in a circumferential direction by transverse channels which extend continuously from the central region of the tread to the lateral tread edges and which are main channels of the tread and which, at least over the major part of the course thereof, have the maximum provided profile depth. The tread has, as profile positives, two rows of transverse ribs which are of encircling form in the circumferential direction and which are separated from one another by respective transverse channels. The tread is of directional configuration, wherein the transverse ribs of one row, and thus the transverse channels running between the transverse ribs, run, with respect to the axial direction, oppositely in relation to the transverse ribs and transverse channels of the other row.

In at least outermost side circumferential grooves on outermost sides in a tire widthwise direction among a plurality of circumferential grooves of a tread, a plurality of ridge portions are formed in a spaced relation with each other in a tire circumferential direction such that the plurality of ridge portions project from a groove bottom of the outermost side circumferential grooves and cross the outermost side circumferential grooves, and at least one of the widthwise grooves on the shoulder land portions in shoulder regions among the plurality of land portions partitioned by the circumferential grooves has, on a groove bottom thereof, a widened groove portion having an increased groove width. Therefore, the pneumatic tire in which the shoulder land portions at which the tread is most deformable and most liable to generate heat can be cooled effectively to suppress the temperature rise.
