SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SETTING MULTIPLE TIRE SENSOR IDENTIFICATION CODES USING HANDHELD DEVICE
A system for setting multiple tire sensor identification codes includes a database and a handheld device. The database is for inputting and storing multiple vehicle owner information and multiple tire sensor identification codes associated with the vehicle owner information. The handheld device is for obtaining the multiple tire sensor identification codes from the database and transmitting the multiple tire sensor identification codes to multiple tire sensors so that each of the tire sensors stores one tire sensor identification code.
TIRE WEAR STATE ESTIMATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A tire wear state estimation system includes at least one sensor disposed on a vehicle and a CAN bus system. The sensor measures selected parameters associated with the vehicle and communicates data for the selected parameters through the CAN bus system, including a first set of data, a second set of data and a third set of data. A rolling radius estimator receives the first set of data and estimates a rolling radius for the tire. An acceleration slip estimator receives the second set of data and the estimated rolling radius to estimate the slip of the tire during acceleration. A braking slip estimator receives the third set of data and the estimated rolling radius to estimate the slip of the tire during braking. A tire slip analyzer correlates the acceleration slip estimation and the braking slip estimation and generates an estimated wear state of the tire.
Tire position determination system
Each of a plurality of tire air pressure detectors includes an information retention portion that retains one or more pieces of timing information indicating the time at which the tire air pressure detector has rotated to a specific detector angle in a first time band for withholding transmission of a radio wave signal, and a radio wave transmission control portion that transmits one or more of the pieces of timing information retained in the information retention portion to a receiver in a second time band enabling transmission of the radio wave signal. The receiver includes an axle rotation amount reader portion that receives axle rotation amount information generated in each of a plurality of axle rotation detection portions, and a position determination portion that calculates an axle rotation amount at the point in time at which the tire air pressure detectors have rotated to the specific detector angle.
Method for detecting a change in location of the wheels of a motor vehicle
A method for detecting a change in location of the wheels of a motor vehicle, the vehicle having at least one central processing unit, and two wheel units which each includes an electronic assembly of sensors and which are each mounted on one of the wheels. The method including a monitoring step, during which a first pattern representative of the location of the wheel unit is established, when the vehicle is at a standstill, and an evaluation step, during which a possible first variation in each first pattern is measured to estimate if the location of the wheel has changed.
Tire pressure monitoring system emulation device and method
A wireless tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) emulation device for a vehicle and a method of activating the device. The device has a memory, a microcontroller, a radio frequency transmitter, a trigger, an actuator and a power supply. The memory is adapted to have stored thereon a software module. The microcontroller is powered by a power supply, such as a battery, and is connected to the memory. The microcontroller is adapted to control a TPMS transmission signal indicative of an acceptable tire pressure signal, according to the software module. The radio frequency transmitter is connected to the microcontroller and is adapted to transmit the transmission signal. The trigger is connected to the microcontroller and is adapted to activate a TPMS sensor pairing of the emulation device for at least one tire of the vehicle. The actuator is connected to the microcontroller and is adapted to activate the emulation device.
Mounting patch for a tire
A rubber patch, which is useable for mounting an active electronic component to a tire, is described. The rubber patch includes a base having a connecting face and support face. The connecting face is substantially planar and is intended to be fixed to an internal surface of the tire. The support face is opposite the connecting face and is arranged to support the active electronic component. The rubber patch further includes a passive label arranged between the connecting face and the support face. The passive label is for identifying the tire and is provided with a memory for storing a unique identification data item pertaining to the tire. A corresponding tire monitoring system, which is configured to read at least the identification data item pertaining to the tire, also is described.
Integrated TPMS module and RFID tag data sharing system in a tire
A standalone tire identification tag and standalone sensor module are mounted to a tire and configured to share and store tire identification and tire parameter-measuring sensor data through a common data sharing interface.
Tire fitting system and method therein for assisting in fitting a wheel
A tire fitting system and a method therein for assisting in fitting a tire on a rim of a wheel prior to assembly of the wheel on a vehicle is provided. The tire fitting system comprising a processing circuitry configured to determine a location of a RFID tag on the tire of the wheel, determine a location for an air valve on the rim of the wheel, determine the distance between the location of the RFID tag and the location for the air valve on the rim, and provide instructions for aligning the tire on the rim based on the determined distance between the location of the RFID tag and the location for the air valve on the rim.
Transmitter, receiver, and transmission-reception system
A transmitter includes a data generating unit configured to generate transmission data, a transmitting unit configured to transmit the transmission data to a receiver that includes a setting unit that sets a threshold for controlling a vehicle in accordance with the type of the tire valve, and a controlling unit that causes the transmitting unit to transmit the transmission data. The transmission data is information with which the setting unit sets the threshold. The transmission data includes valve identification information for causing the setting unit to recognize the type of the tire valve to which the transmitter is attached.
