SHIPPING CONTAINER INFORMATION RECORDATION TECHNIQUES
System and method for obtaining and recording information about cargo includes a frame defining a cargo-receivable compartment, a position determining system at least partly on the frame and that allows for determination of position of the frame, an identification system on the frame that obtains information about cargo when present in the compartment, a memory component that receives and records information about position and movement of the frame, and the obtained information about cargo when present in the compartment in association with a unique identification of the frame, and a communications system on the frame to enable communication of information to and from the memory component.
CONFIRMATION OF TYRE MONITORING DEVICE STATUS
A method, apparatus and system are disclosed in which an indication given by at least one tyre monitoring device is confirmed by input received from another source is disclosed. The method includes causing, by the control device, at least one tyre monitoring device mounted on a wheel to measure a tyre pressure and to indicate a status using an indicator provided on the tyre monitoring device; receiving, from the at least one tyre monitoring device, data representative of the status of the at least one tyre monitoring device; receiving input representative of the status indicated on the indicator of the at least one tyre monitoring device; comparing the received data representative of the status with the received input representative of the status; and taking action based on the result of the comparing.
Tire pressure monitoring system
A tire pressure monitoring system includes a tire valve stem mounted tire pressure gauge and an externally powerable remote display unit. The pressure gauge includes a pressure sensor, a wake circuit, a processor, and a first radio frequency (RF) module. The remote display unit includes a second RF module and a display. The wake circuit is adapted to activate the processor periodically at a predetermined interval of time and causes the processor to receive an output signal from the pressure sensor. The output of the pressure sensor is indicative of a tire pressure detected by the pressure sensor. The remote display unit is adapted to display the measured tire pressure value without any user input.
TIRE MONITORING DEVICE CONFIGURATION
A method of configuring a tire monitoring device is disclosed. The method includes, at the tire monitoring device: entering a configuration mode; responsive to entering the configuration mode, transmitting a first message to a second device, the message indicating that the second device should transmit configuration data to the tire monitoring device; receiving configuration data from the second device in response to the first message; and configuring the tire monitoring device based on the configuration data.
INITIALISATION OF TYRE MONITORING DEVICES
A method for initialising a tyre monitoring device including a wireless communication interface and tyre monitoring devices and systems using the method are disclosed. The method includes operating the tyre monitoring device in a first mode, in the first mode the tyre monitoring device is only responsive to an initialisation instruction received over the wireless communication interface from the second device; receiving an initialisation instruction over the wireless communication interface while operating in the first mode; and, responsive to the initialisation instruction, operating the tyre monitoring device in a second mode in which the tyre monitoring device is responsive to instructions received over the wireless communication interface. The first mode draws lower power than the second mode so power draw prior to initialisation, for example while storage awaiting use, is reduced.
TIRE HIGH TEMPERATURE FORECASTING SYSTEM
A tire high temperature forecasting system includes at least one tire that supports a vehicle, and at least one sensor mounted on the tire for measuring a temperature of the tire. An electronic memory capacity is in a unit mounted on the tire for storing tire identification information. A processor is in electronic communication with the sensor and the electronic memory capacity, in which the processor receives and correlates the measured temperature, a time of the temperature measurement, and the tire identification information. Transmission means transmit the measured temperature, a time of the temperature measurement, and the tire identification information to a remote processor. The remote processor executes a forecasting model, and the forecasting model generates a forecast estimate. If the forecast estimate includes a predicted high temperature that is greater than a predetermined high temperature threshold for the tire, an alert is generated by the forecasting model.
Self contained tire inflator
An inflator disposed within a tubeless tire for inflating the tubeless tire. A rechargeable electric storage disposed within a tubeless for providing electricity. An electric air compressor is mounted on an inside surface of the rim of the tubeless tire within the pressure cavity of the tubeless tire. The electric air compressor and an air pressure sensor disposed within the tubeless tire runs by a controller. The electric air compressor has a compressed air inlet vented to atmosphere in a custom valve stem through a conventional hole of a valve stem in the rim of the tubeless tire. A motion activated power generator recharges the rechargeable electric storage. A short-range radio transmits measured pressure data for each tire to a central OBD module plugged into in the vehicle. The central OBD module connects through a smartphone indirectly or directly to a central server via a networked cellular radio tower.
Apparatus and method for determining aircraft tire pressure
An apparatus configured to determine the pressure of an aircraft tire at a reference temperature. The apparatus includes a processing system configured to: obtain a measured tire pressure and a measured temperature associated with the measured tire pressure; and determine a tire pressure at the reference temperature by adjusting the measured tire pressure using a predetermined temperature characteristic, a square root of the measured temperature and a square root of the reference temperature. The predetermined temperature characteristic is a gradient of the relationship between square root of temperature and tire pressure.
Method and System for Reading/Writing Data From/On RFID Tags Integrated/Applied In/On Tires Conveyed on Conveyor Belts
A system and method is provided for reading and/or writing data from/on RFID tags of tires conveyed on a conveyor belt in a conveyance direction, wherein each tire is fitted with a respective RFID tag storing a univocal identifier of said tire. An antenna is installed over or nearby the conveyor belt and configured to radiate RF signals toward a footprint area on the conveyor belt and receive backscattered RF signals from said footprint area. A reader is connected to the antenna to operate the latter in transmission and reception. A preliminary calibration step is applied to the reader and a reading and/or writing step is carried out by operating the calibrated reader.

An example disclosed method includes positioning the front wheels on first and second dynamometers. The example method also includes aligning, with the first and second dynamometers, the tire pressure monitoring sensors of the front wheels. The example method includes positioning the rear wheels on the first and second dynamometers. Additionally, the example method includes aligning, with the first and second dynamometers, the tire pressure monitoring sensors of the rear wheels.
