A tire monitoring system that includes a tire monitoring device and a remote device. The tire monitoring device includes a processor, a memory, and a first wireless communication interface. The remote device includes a second wireless communication interface. The processor monitors the tire monitoring device to determine unauthorized interactions with the tire monitoring device, stores a log of determined unauthorized interactions in the memory, and transmits a signal encoding the log to the remote device via the first and second wireless communication interfaces.

A method for protecting the battery of a wheel unit fitted to a wheel of a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle includes a central processing unit and the wheel unit includes at least a first sensor capable of measuring and of supplying an operating parameter of the wheel unit and a battery which supplies the wheel unit with power. The method including that the wheel unit transitions from an operational state to a non-operational state when the operating parameter reaches a predetermined upper threshold, and the wheel unit transitions from the non-operational state to the operational state when the operating parameter reaches a predetermined lower threshold.
Systems and methods for detecting error in odometer reading
A vehicle including a first sensor, a second sensor and a processor is disclosed. The first sensor may be configured to measure first inputs associated with a vehicle wheel, and the second sensor may be configured to measure second inputs associated with the vehicle wheel. The processor may estimate a first distance travelled by the vehicle wheel for a predefined time duration on a vehicle trip based on the first inputs, and a second distance travelled by the vehicle wheel for the predefined time duration on the vehicle trip based on the second inputs. The processor may further calculate a difference between the second distance and the first distance, and perform a predefined action when the difference may be greater than a predefined threshold.
Wheel Sensor System
The present invention is directed to a wheel sensor system for a vehicle, comprising wheel sensor assemblies; a connector electrically connectable to a vehicle diagnostics system so as to be powered by the vehicle diagnostics system; and at least one electromagnetic energy transmitter for wirelessly transmitting electromagnetic energy received via the connector to each wheel sensor assembly. Each wheel sensor assembly comprises at least one sensor for measuring a property of a vehicle wheel; a sensor assembly antenna for wirelessly receiving the electromagnetic energy transmitted by the electromagnetic energy transmitter; and a converter for converting the electromagnetic energy received by the sensor assembly antenna into an electrical current for powering one or more components of the sensor assembly. Furthermore, the invention is directed to a vehicle comprising the wheel sensor system.
Sensor localization using an assembly line tool
The disclosure relates to a diagnostic system for verifying functionality and performing mapping of a wireless sensor in/on a wheel of a heavy-duty vehicle on an assembly line (100), the system including: an assembly-line tool provided along the assembly line, each tool comprising one or more antenna systems arranged to interrogate a wireless sensor integrated into/on a wheel of the vehicle, each tool is arranged in use to: automatically locate on the vehicle and verify a function of the sensor; and interrogate the sensor to perform a wireless sensor reading; and pair sensor reading data with a tire identifier, pair sensor reading data with a vehicle chassis ID, wherein the diagnostic system maps the sensor using sensor readings and provides mapping information for the sensor to a gateway/receiver of an electronic control unit of the vehicle.
