TIRE ELECTRONICS SECURING STRUCTURES
An inflatable electronics band for use in a tire features an annular, flexible, inflatable, tubular body configured to contact an inner portion of a tire opposite the tread surface, such as an innerliner. The inflatable electronics band further features an inflation valve, disposed on the tubular body. The tubular body is configured to inflate to a pressure at least 10% greater than the recommended tire inflation pressure.
ASSEMBLY FOR ATTACHING AN ELECTRONICS PACKAGE TO A TIRE
An assembly for mounting an electronics package to an interior of a tire includes a carriage configured to receive an electronics package. The assembly also includes an attaching device having a first side and a second side. The first side of the attaching device is permanently affixed to the interior of the tire. The second side of the attaching device has an attaching structure. The attaching structure is configured to receive the carriage to form a secure and locked connection.
TIRE READY TO RECEIVE A MEMBER ON THE SURFACE THEREOF
A tire comprises an inner surface and/or outer surface with an accommodating region, an adhesive layer arranged on said accommodating region and a protective film arranged on said adhesive layer, characterized in that said adhesive layer is based on a block thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) comprising an elastomer block based on a diene elastomer comprising a molar content (or content by weight) of unsaturations of greater than 10%.
ATTACHMENT PATCH FOR MOUNTING DEVICES
An apparatus for mounting an object within a tire includes a ply having a first side for mounting against an innerliner of the tire and a pedestal extending upwards from a second side of the ply. The pedestal has a recessed planar top surface, with an elongated front cavity, an elongated rear cavity, and a substantially cylindrical central cavity disposed therein. The substantially cylindrical cavity is defined by an internal sidewall. The internal sidewall includes mating structure selected from the group consisting of threads and a plurality of downwardly extending slots.
PNEUMATIC TIRE
A pneumatic tire comprises a first sound damper fixed to a tire inner surface and being made of a sponge material; a second sound damper disposed on a tire internal space side of the first sound damper, and being made of a sponge material; and a communication device retained between the first sound damper and the second sound damper. The second sound damper has a hardness in a range of greater than 25N and no greater than 55N. The first sound damper has a hardness in a range of no less than 25N and less than 55N. The hardness of the second sound damper is greater than the hardness of the first sound damper. The hardness is measured in accordance with the Method A in Section 6.4 of the test methods as defined under the Hardness Tests in Section 6 of JIS K6400-2 (2012).
Device for fixing an electronic box in the wheel of a vehicle
A device (D) fixes, to the internal wall of a tire (P), an electronic box (100) for measuring parameters inside the tire, the device (D) associating the box (100) with a flexible receptacle (200) which, being fixed to the internal wall by an adhesion means (300), is preformed so as to accept and hold said box (100), remarkable in that said flexible receptacle (200) forms a compartment (210) equipped with an opening (220), by means of which said box (100) is introduced and which is bordered by an edge (221) extending externally and offering a contact surface (222) for the adhesion means (300) so that, once the receptacle (200) is fixed, said opening (220) is closed by the internal wall on which the receptacle (200) is fixed.
TIRE WITH CELLULAR MEMBER AND SENSOR
A tire, cellular member, and sensor combination includes a tire. The tire includes a pair of sidewalls, a circumferential tread, in which the pair of sidewalls extends to the tread, and an innerliner. A cellular member is disposed on the innerliner and is formed with a sensor opening. A sensor is disposed in the sensor opening and is affixed to the innerliner.
PATCH FOR AN ELECTRONIC MODULE OF A TIRE
A patch is provided for an electronic device of a tire. The patch includes first and second compartments. The first compartment, which does not include an opening, is structured to house therein an electronic identification module. The second compartment, which includes a reclosable opening, is structured to house therein an electronic module having a complementary function to a function of the electronic identification module. The electronic module is adapted to receive identification data from the electronic identification module.
Post-cure read range enhancement of RFID tire tags
Methods for increasing the read range of an electronic communication module within a tire and methods for improving the read range of an electronic communication module within a tire are provided herein. As discussed further herein, the read range can be improved by applying strain to the tire without circumferentially contacting the outer surface of its tread, resulting in an increase in the same-distance-signal-strength of 5% or more. Also provided are tires made according to the disclosed methods.
Structures and methods providing tread sensor integration
A tire monitoring system may include first and second sensor elements, a circuit board, and a housing. The circuit board includes control circuitry coupled with at least one of the first and second sensor elements, wherein the control circuitry is configured to generate tire tread information based on an electrical response of at least one of the first and second sensor elements. The housing includes a housing material that surrounds the circuit board in a direction parallel with respect to a surface of the circuit board. Related methods are also discussed.
