Trailer coupling with a coupling arm

The invention relates to a trailer coupling for a motor vehicle, with a coupling arm (11, 111, 211), on the free longitudinal end region (12) of which a coupling body (13), in particular a coupling ball (14), for the coupling of a trailer (190) or a load carrier (290) is arranged, and the other longitudinal end region (15) of which forms a holding end (16) for holding and/or movable mounting on a supporting structure (70) of the motor vehicle (90), wherein the coupling arm has supporting straps (20, 21) which extend along a longitudinal extent of the coupling arm at a transverse distance (22) to each other between the longitudinal end regions (12, 15). It is provided that the supporting straps (20, 21) are connected to each other by a plurality of connecting struts (26-31) in the manner of a lattice structure (24) or rib structure (25).

Trailer Device

In order to improve a trailer device for motor vehicles, comprising a crossmember, which is mountable on a vehicle body at the rear-end side thereof, a holding unit, which is provided on the crossmember and which carries a ball neck receiving body comprising a ball neck receptacle, into which receiving body an insertion portion of a ball neck supporting a coupling ball is insertable and fixable therein, in such a way that the ball neck receiving body is both visible and intrusive to the least possible extent when the ball neck is not inserted, it is proposed that the holding unit comprises a pivot bearing unit, by means of which the ball neck receiving body is movable from a working position, in which the ball neck is insertable into said receiving body for trailer operation, into a rest position, and that at least one stop element fixedly connected to the holding unit is provided, which stop element has a first support surface, which, in the working position, abuts against the insertion portion with the insertion portion inserted into the ball neck receptacle and thus blocks a pivoting of the ball neck receiving body in at least one pivot direction.

Trailer coupling

In order to solve the problem, in the case of a trailer coupling comprising a ball neck supporting a coupling ball, and also comprising a socket receptacle for a socket for the power supply of units acting on the coupling ball, the socket having a socket housing with a housing sleeve, which is provided with an insertion opening, and the insertion opening being closable by a cover that is mounted pivotably on the housing sleeve, of being able to mount the sockets as conveniently and easily as possible, it is proposed that the socket receptacle has a receiving channel, into which the housing sleeve extends starting from a first side of the socket receptacle, that the housing sleeve bears against the first side of the socket receptacle via a bearing surface, and that the housing sleeve is fixed to the socket receptacle by a retaining element, which is fitted starting from a second side of the socket receptacle and which is supported on the socket receptacle and is connected to the housing sleeve by a latched connection.

VEHICLE TOW HOOK

An assembly includes a vehicle frame, a base fixed relative to the vehicle frame, and a hook supported by the base and rotatable relative to the base between an extended position and a retracted position. One of the hook or the base has a flange and the other of the hook or the base has a pair of extensions. The flange is between the extensions. A post is fixed relative to the flange and engages both extensions. A spring is connected to the post and one of the extensions. The spring is positioned to bias the hook toward the extended position.

The invention relates to a trailer coupling having a support arrangement adapted to be fastened, to a vehicle, on which a bearing is mounted, wherein on the bearing a coupling element is moveable between a use position which is suitable for coupling a trailer to the coupling element, and in which when the trailer coupling is mounted on the motor vehicle the coupling element projects rearwardly of the motor vehicle, and a non-use position in which the coupling element is back behind a bumper of the motor vehicle. On the coupling element, a connecting device for connecting an on-board network of the trailer to an on-board network of the motor vehicle is provided. The connecting device is connectable, to the on-board network of the motor vehicle by a cable comprising a flexible cable section, which at a first longitudinal end is attached to the coupling element in a fixed manner with respect to the carrier arrangement, and at a second longitudinal end is attached to the coupling element in a fixed manner, and which follows the movement of the coupling element between the use and non-use positions. The trailer coupling comprises a winding device for winding a winding section of the cable section onto a cable reel when the coupling element is moved between the use position and the non-use position.

TRAILER DEVICE

To improve a trailer device for motor vehicles, comprising a holding unit for a plvcrossmember mountable on a vehicle body on the rear-end side thereof and a ball neck receiving body having a ball neck receptacle, in which an insertion portion of a ball neck supporting a coupling ball is insertable and fixable therein, wherein the ball neck receiving body is arranged mounted on the holding unit so as to be pivotable at least between a working position, in which a ball neck is insertable by means of its insertion portion into the ball neck receptacle, and a rest position, it is proposed that the trailer device comprises a locking device which fixes the ball neck receiving body in the rest position in a locking state relative to the holding unit and has an unlocking state, in which the locking device allows the ball neck receiving body to pivot from the rest position in the direction towards the working position, and that an actuator is provided, by means of which the locking device is movable from the locking state into the unlocking state.
