One example embodiment is a tow bar retention mechanism for a vehicle tow bar of a combat vehicle. The tow bar retention mechanism includes a tow bar retention arm, an elongated locking beam, a quick-release locking mechanism, and a quick-release safety mechanism. The quick-release locking mechanism locks the tow bar retention arm in a locked position placing the vehicle tow bar in a stowed position. The quick-release locking mechanism also unlocks the tow bar retention arm allowing the tow bar retention arm to move to an unlocked position allowing the vehicle tow bar to move to a tow position. The quick-release safety mechanism may be placed in a first position preventing the quick-release locking mechanism from moving from the locked position. The quick-release safety mechanism may also be placed in a second position allowing the quick-release locking mechanism to move from the locked position.

TOWBAR WITH A HITCH BALL SYSTEM

A towbar with a hitch ball system is shown and described. The towbar with a hitch ball system may include a first bushing member, a second bushing member telescopingly engaged with the first bushing member, the second bushing member including at least one aperture, and a pivoting arm telescopingly engaged with the second bushing member. The towbar with a hitch ball system may also include an engagement device operatively coupled with the second bushing member, the engagement device including a pin member and an electrically-operating device, where the electrically-operating device generally aligns the pin member with the at least one aperture of the second bushing member.

The inventive disclosures described herein pertain to an improved folding trailer that, in many embodiments, is comprised of an improved swivel jack to more-easily aid in safe trailer-folding operations, a hinged trailer tongue, an integral winch with an extended flexible coupling shaft, and an external or onboard rotational power source to drive the winch. More specifically, this folding-trailer configuration minimizes the physical exertion required of a user to fold or unfold the trailer, as well as significantly reduces the potential for serious user injury during the folding/unfolding process. Trailer device

In order to improve a trailer device for motor vehicles, comprising a crossmember, which is mountable on a vehicle body at the rear-end side thereof, a holding unit, which is provided on the crossmember and which carries a ball neck receiving body comprising a ball neck receptacle, into which receiving body an insertion portion of a ball neck supporting a coupling ball is insertable and fixable therein, in such a way that the ball neck receiving body is both visible and intrusive to the least possible extent when the ball neck is not inserted, it is proposed that the holding unit comprises a pivot bearing unit, by means of which the ball neck receiving body is movable from a working position, in which the ball neck is insertable into said receiving body for trailer operation, into a rest position, and that at least one stop element fixedly connected to the holding unit is provided, which stop element has a first support surface, which, in the working position, abuts against the insertion portion with the insertion portion inserted into the ball neck receptacle and thus blocks a pivoting of the ball neck receiving body in at least one pivot direction.

Dolly Tongue Manipulation Mechanism

A transport dolly includes a base and a tongue rotatably mounted to the base. At least one support is mounted to the base. A first cable guide is coupled to the at least one support. A lever is rotatable between a first orientation and a second orientation. A cable has a first portion attached to the tongue. The cable extends from the tongue to the first cable guide, then to the lever. The lever pulls on the cable when the lever is rotated from the first orientation to the second orientation, so as to decrease a distance between the cable first portion and the first cable guide, thereby rotating the tongue from a lowered orientation to a raised orientation. A spring mechanism exerts a force on the lever to prevent rotation of the lever from the second orientation to the first orientation when the tongue is raised.

TRAILER HITCH INTEGRATED TOW HOOK AND STEP

An exemplary tow hook assembly for a vehicle includes a tow hook, a bracket, and a coupling member. The tow hook is coupled to the bracket by the coupling member. The tow hook is pivotable between a first position and a second position about the coupling member. In the second position, the tow hook is contained within a horizontal dimension and a vertical dimension defined by the bumper.

Multi-attachment trailer hitch with attachments movable between working and storage positions

A multi-attachment trailer hitch features a shank for coupling with a receiver tube of a towing vehicle, and first and second hitch attachments of different size or type from one another movably carried on the shank by one or more supports. Each support is movably coupled to the shank for selective swiveling or rotation thereof about an upright axis to move one or more of said hitch attachments between a working position situated rearwardly beyond the rear end of the shank, and a storage position situated more forwardly than the working position. The one or more supports are movable into a full-storage state in which no hitch attachment occupies the working position, thereby eliminating or minimizing a rearward projection of the hitch from the rear of a towing vehicle to reduce or eliminating tripping or rear-end puncture hazards.
