SUSPENSION THRUST BEARING DEVICE AND SUSPENSION STRUT EQUIPED WITH SUCH A DEVICE
A suspension thrust bearing device for use with a suspension spring in an automotive suspension strut of a vehicle. The device provides a bearing having upper and lower annular bearing members in relative rotation, and a damping element made of resilient material and interposed between the lower annular bearing member and the suspension spring. The damping element including at least one deflecting flange for reducing any ingress of water and other pollutants between the upper and lower annular bearing members. The damping element is provided with an annular groove open axially towards the suspension spring, the annular groove radially defining a spring support surface on an inner side, and the deflecting flange on an outer side. The deflecting flange has a frustoconical shape directed axially towards the suspension spring.
Component alignment system
An exemplary system for aligning a relative position between two components includes a locating member and an alignment insert member configured to couple with the locating member. The alignment insert member includes a radially-extending tab. The radially-extending tab has a plurality of identifying markers to identify a radial position of the locating member. The locating member is rotatable within the alignment insert member to adjust a radial position of the locating member.
SLIDING BEARING
Provided is a sliding bearing capable of reducing the number of components and reducing costs. This sliding bearing (1) is provided with; an upper case (2); a lower case (3) combined with the upper case (2); and an annular dust seal-integrated center plate (8) that has a dust seal part (6) for covering a gap between the upper case (2) and the lower case (3), is disposed between the upper case (2) and the lower case (3), and enables relative rotation between the upper case (2) and the lower case (3). The dust seal-integrated center plate (8) is integrally formed with the lower case (3).
Structural part of a body in white of a vehicle and associated manufacturing method
A structural part for a body in white of a vehicle includes a frame formed by at least two branches connected to one another in at least one connecting zone and separated from each other by at least one gap in a zone of least stress. The frame is made of a first composite material comprising a plurality of continuous fibers impregnated with a first polymeric material. A body is integral with the frame extending in the gap and connecting the two branches in the zone of least stress. The body is made of a second material that is different from the first composite material and comprises at least a second polymeric material, wherein the body is integral with the branches.
MULTI-ACTOR DAMPING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A damping actor selector may be configured to transition a multi-actor damping system from a first damping actor configuration to a second damping actor configuration. The multi-actor damping system may be used in a shock strut assembly to alter a damping curve of the shuck strut assembly. The damping actor selector may be coupled to a metering pin of a shock strut assembly. The damping actor selector may be configured to rotate the metering pin to transition the multi-actor damping system from a first damping actor configuration to a second damping actor configuration. The first damping actor configuration may correspond to a first damping curve. The second damping actor configuration may correspond to a second damping curve. The first damping curve being different than the second damping curve.
SUSPENSION THRUST BEARING DEVICE AND SUSPENSION STRUT EQUIPPED WITH SUCH A DEVICE
A suspension thrust bearing device for use with a suspension spring in an automotive suspension strut of a vehicle includes a bearing having an upper annular bearing member and a lower annular bearing member configured for relative rotation. The lower annular bearing member includes a radial body and a damper having a radial portion made of resilient material overmolded to a lower side of the radial body. The damper radial portion has a lower support surface configured to axially support an end coil of the suspension spring, and the damper radial portion has a material hardness of 50 to 85 Shore A and an axial thickness of 2 to 10 mm.
Suspension bearing unit and support strut equipped with such a unit
A suspension bearing unit for a motor vehicle, comprising an upper cup, a lower cup and a bearing interposed between the upper cup and the lower cup in rotation in relation to each other about a principal axis. The suspension bearing unit also comprises at least one seal in a hollow housing provided on one face of a first element from among the lower cup and the upper cup. The hollow housing comprises a plurality of protruding ribs spaced apart circumferentially, the ribs protruding into the base of the seal.
TOP MOUNT ASSEMBLY AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME
A top mount assembly includes an upper plate having a first bushing accommodation portion formed to protrude upward at a center portion; a lower plate disposed below the upper plate and having a second bushing accommodation portion formed to protrude downward at a center portion; a rubber bushing accommodated in an accommodation space defined by the first bushing accommodation portion and the second bushing accommodation portion when the upper plate and the lower plate are coupled to each other; a plurality of bolts coupled to the lower plate and the upper plate so as to protrude upward from the upper plate; an upper housing integrally coupled to the lower plate and the plurality of bolts below the lower plate by an insert injection molding; a lower housing coupled to the upper housing from below the upper housing; and a bearing interposed between the upper housing and the lower housing.
The lower annular bearing member has a radial surface and a resilient damper overmolded to the radial surface, which damper has a lower support surface configured to axially support an end coil of the suspension spring. The lower support surface has at least one high portion and at least one low portion that form a waveform, such as a square wave or a sinusoidal wave, in a peripheral direction.
