The outer elastic sealing member 6 includes a lip 6B brought into pressure contact with a pressure contact surface B of the outer ring 2. An upper surface 7A of the projection 7 is spaced downward from the lower end of the inner cylindrical portion 2B of the outer ring 2, and an outer circumferential surface 7C of the projection 7 is spaced radially inward from the lower member 8.

A system and method for manufacturing a top mount for a vehicle suspension includes loading a top mount body, a journal, and a plurality of knurled studs into a lower die assembly. The lower die assembly includes a stationary die base, a floating die top, and a pusher shaft. A pusher head assembly applies a downward pressure to insert the knurled studs into the top mount body, while the pusher shaft substantially simultaneously applies an upward pressure to insert the journal into the top mount body. The floating die top and the pusher head assembly are raised in tandem to eject the top mount from the stationary die base. The floating die top and the pusher head assembly then retract so that the top mount can be removed from the system.

Strut mount bearing unit

A strut mount and bearing assembly includes a strut mount having upper and lower ends, a central bore for receiving a shock absorber end and an annular upper race surface between the upper and lower ends and extending circumferentially about the bore. The upper end is fixedly connectable with a vehicle body and has a flat attachment surface disposeable against a vehicle surface of the vehicle body. A first bearing race is disposed on the mount and a spring seat having a second bearing race is movably coupled with the strut mount. The seat also has a lower end with spring engagement surface and a second bearing race is disposed on the seat spaced axially from the first bearing race. Rolling elements are disposed between the first and second bearing races to form a bearing. The various components are formed and sized to make an axially compact assembly.

The sliding sheet (5) is formed of a thermoplastic plastic, and the center plate (4) is formed from a thermoplastic elastomer having a lower modulus of elasticity than the thermoplastic plastic.

The pressure relief apparatus is configured to allow fluid communication between the first and second chambers in response to a predetermined pressure threshold being reached in at least one of the first and second chambers.

A suspension system including a shock absorber and a link is coupled to the shock absorber. The suspension system further includes the hydraulic mount apparatus coupled to one of the shock absorber and the link.
