SUSPENSION SYSTEM
A suspension system includes: a trailing arm and a lower arm which are turnably connected to a chassis and are joined in such a way as to be displaceable relative to each other through a hinge mechanism; and a stabilizer. The suspension system includes a stabilizer link which connects the stabilizer to the trailing arm. A fitting point of the stabilizer link to the trailing arm is located on a front side in a vehicle front-back direction relative to a center axis of the hinge mechanism, and a fastening point of the stabilizer and the stabilizer link is located on a lower side in a vehicle up-down direction and on an inside in a vehicle width direction with reference to the fitting point.
A fitting point of the stabilizer link to the trailing arm is located behind a center axis of the hinge mechanism in a vehicle front-back direction, and a fastening point of the stabilizer and the stabilizer link is located above the fitting point in a vehicle up-down direction and inside the fitting point in a vehicle width direction.
VEHICLE SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY
A vehicle has a frame and left and right suspension assemblies connected to the frame. Each suspension assembly has a suspension support connected to the frame; a lower control arm having an inner end pivotally connected to the suspension support at two longitudinally spaced positions; an upper control arm having an inner end pivotally connected 5 to the suspension support at two longitudinally spaces positions; a knuckle pivotally connected to outer ends of the lower and outer control arms; and a shock absorber having an upper end pivotally connected to the suspension support and a lower end pivotally connected to one of the lower and upper control arms. A sway bar has ends connected to two of the control arms and is pivotally connected to the suspension supports. Wheels are rotationally 10 connected to the knuckles.
ARB DISCONNECT SYSTEM WITH IMPROVED ROLL GRADIENT AND UNDERSTEER CHARACTERISTICS
A suspension assembly for a vehicle suspension system may include a lower control arm, an upper control arm, a damper, and a drop link. The lower control arm may be operably coupled to a chassis of a vehicle via a first bushing assembly and a second bushing assembly. The first and second bushing assemblies may each pivot about an axis substantially parallel to a longitudinal centerline of the vehicle. The upper control arm may be operably coupled to the chassis. The damper may be operably coupled to the lower control arm to dampen pivoting motion of the upper and lower control arms relative to the chassis. The drop link may operably couple the lower control arm and an anti-roll bar that includes a disconnect assembly to translate a roll motion into a force exerted on the lower control arm in a direction substantially parallel to the axis.
Sway bar linkage with bushing
The sway bar linkage connects a sway bar with a control arm of a vehicle suspension system. The linkage includes a fastener and a plurality of bushings disposed between the fastener and the sway bar and between the fastener and the control arm. At least one of the bushings is constructed as a single piece of material, presents an outer surface, presents an inner bore which extends along an axis for receiving the fastener, and presents a plurality of pockets. The pockets are spaced radially between the inner bore and the outer surface for allowing the bushing to more easily deflect and absorb energy while transferring forces between the sway bar, fastener and control arm.
SIDE-BY-SIDE VEHICLE
The present invention relates to all terrain vehicles having at least a pair of laterally spaced apart seating surfaces.
Independent Suspension
An independent wheel suspension includes a knuckle which is supported on a spring support connected to a vehicle body. The knuckle is connected to the spring support via a knuckle pin and is arranged so as to be mounted rotatably around a longitudinal axis A of the knuckle pin. The transverse control arms are mounted at the upper end and lower end, respectively, of the knuckle pin. The spring support is connected to the knuckle pin so as to be fixed with respect to rotation relative to it so that the knuckle pin connects the spring support, the knuckle and the upper transverse control arm and lower transverse control arm together. The independent wheel suspension has a further safety component which prevents the knuckle pin from rotating in an uncontrolled manner around its longitudinal axis A.
Pipe-shaped member and method of closing end portions of same
A pipe-shaped member of the present invention is a pipe-shaped member (1) which includes a flat plate portion (1h1, 1h2) placed in at least one end portion (1a1) of two end portions of the pipe, formed in a flat plate shape, and including groove-shaped recessed portions (ta1, tb1, tb2) formed in one and another extended surfaces in the flat plate shape. The recessed portions (ta1, tb1, tb2) are formed such that the flat plate portion (1h1, 1h2) has at least a substantially W-shape, in a direction crossing a longitudinal direction of the flat plate portion (1h1, 1h2), and with a depth not reaching a boundary (1ha) between one plate (1h1) and the other plate (1h2) of the flat plate portion (1h1, 1h2).
STABILIZER FOR A VEHICLE SUSPENSION
A stabilizer for a vehicle suspension, including a longitudinal polymeric body with a metal frame having two ends and a central sector, having a hole at each end in which there is housed a ball joint, where the frame is formed from two metal parts having an open section which are arranged opposite one another on their open sides, where each part includes a deep drawn portion that goes towards the open side such that the opposing parts are supported on the deep drawn portions and attached therein by welding.
Stabilizer bushing and bushing-equipped stabilizer bar using the same
A stabilizer bushing including: a tubular main rubber elastic body configured to be disposed about and attachable to a stabilizer bar; an inside protrusion protruding in an axial direction from an inner peripheral part of the main rubber elastic body; and a bonding surface constituted by including an inner peripheral surface of the main rubber elastic body and an inner peripheral surface of the inside protrusion, the bonding surface being configured to be bonded to an outer peripheral surface of the stabilizer bar.
