An axial ball joint includes a ball stud including a stud portion and a ball portion; a metal housing configured to rotatably support the ball portion of the ball stud; a resin ball sheet provided in an interposed manner between the ball portion and the housing. The housing is formed in a bottomed cylindrical shape by press work. The housing has a bottom wall and a peripheral side wall which are set respectively to thicknesses substantially equal to each other. The bottom wall and the peripheral side wall of the housing have therebetween a boundary portion formed with multiple rib portions which project in a brace shape from outside to inside of the housing.

Control arm with tunable fracture features

A control arm includes a wheel side end, a body side end, a first connecting member extending between the wheel side end and the body side end, a second connecting member extending between the wheel side end and the body side end, and having a reduced section portion, and a fracture zone extending through the first and second connecting members in a substantially fore-aft direction of the vehicle, the reduced section portion being within the fracture zone. A thickness of the reduced section portion is tunable to establish a controlled fracturing during a small overlap rigid barrier impact event where: (i) an initial fracture of the first connecting member occurs within the fracture zone, and (ii) a secondary fracture of the second connecting member occurs within the fracture zone at the reduced section portion, to thereby provide a desired rearward trajectory of the wheel assembly during the impact event.

ANTI-ROLL BAR ASSEMBLY FOR A VEHICLE AND VEHICLE HAVING SAME

A vehicle has left and right suspension arms operatively connecting left and right ground-engaging members to the vehicle's frame. An anti-roll bar assembly operatively connects the left and right suspension arms. The anti-roll bar assembly includes: an anti-roll bar having left and right end portions operatively connected to the left and right suspension arms, and at least one anti-roll bar connection assembly connecting a middle portion of the anti-roll bar to the frame. Each of the at least one anti-roll bar connection assembly includes: an elastomeric insert mounted to the anti-roll bar, the elastomeric insert engaging the anti-roll bar such that an inner surface of the elastomeric insert rotates together with the anti-roll bar; and a mounting bracket connected to the frame and at least partly enclosing the elastomeric insert, an outer surface of the elastomeric insert being rotatably fixed relative to the mounting bracket.

A ball joint has a ball stud, a housing and a ball seat. The seat is an elastic body in a tubular shape with the top and the bottom being open, and has a spherical space to accommodate a ball portion. The housing has a spherical inner face that is close to an outer periphery of the ball portion, to accommodate the ball portion in the inner face via the seat so as to support the ball stud. A clamped portion arranged at a peripheral end of the housing is clamped to press the seat so that the ball stud can be swung and rotated.

A vehicle suspension system includes suspension arms mounted to a vehicle body frame to be pivotable between a low rolling posture and a high rolling posture and an anti-roll bar unit. The anti-roll bar unit includes a main anti-roll bar and a sub anti-roll bar. The sub anti-roll bar extends at least partially parallel with the main anti-roll bar. In the low rolling posture of the suspension arms, the main anti-roll bar and the sub anti-roll bar are not in contact with each other. In the high rolling posture of the suspension bars, the main anti-roll bar and the sub anti-roll bar are in contact with each other to increase stiffness of the anti-roll bar unit.

STABILIZER BAR FOR A LOAD SPAN TAG AXLE

A tag axle system for a concrete mixing vehicle including an axle including a right wheel assembly and a left wheel assembly, an actuator coupled to the axle to move the axle between a raised position and a lowered position relative to a vehicle chassis, a stabilizer mount plate structured to be coupled to the vehicle chassis, a stabilizer bar rotationally coupled to the stabilizer mount plate, a right stabilizer bar arm rigidly coupled to the stabilizer bar and coupled to the right wheel assembly, and a left stabilizer bar arm rigidly coupled to the stabilizer bar and coupled to the left wheel assembly.

An elastomeric bearing includes an inner member that has a spherical exterior surface and is symmetric about a central axis and a hollow annular outer structure that is axially split thereby forming a first outer segment and a second outer segment. The first outer segment and second outer segment form a substantially cylindrical exterior surface. One or more shim structures are formed around the inner member and are disposed at least partially inside the hollow annular outer structure. The shim structure has a radially outward facing surface and a radially inward facing surface. One or more layers of elastomeric material are disposed on each of the radially outward facing surface and the radially inward facing surface.
