REAR AXLE SUSPENSION FOR A VEHICLE
A rear axle suspension includes a holder for pivotable connection of a connecting portion of a semirigid axle to a vehicle superstructure The holder is stationary relative to the vehicle superstructure and has a first and a second holding arrangement for an axle pin. The first and second holding arrangements are arranged on both sides of the connecting portion along a pin axis. In order to provide an optimized connection of a semirigid axle to a vehicle superstructure, the first holding arrangement has a stabilizing element with an arcuate portion. The arcuate portion, in the direction of the pin axis and tangentially, extends at least partially around the pin axis. The axle pin is mounted in the arcuate portion. Fixing portions are adjacent the arcuate portion on both sides and attach the stabilizing element to the vehicle superstructure.

A torsion axle assembly for supporting of a vehicle body on an undercarriage, including an elongated inner member having an inner member longitudinal axis; a torsion arm interconnected with the elongated inner member and the undercarriage; an elongated enclosure interconnected with the vehicle body and having an interior space; and resilient material residing within the interior space to support the elongated inner member within the interior space, such that the inner member longitudinal axis resides at an unloaded camber angle to an elongated enclosure longitudinal axis when none of the weight of the vehicle body is borne by the torsion axle assembly and at a loaded camber angle when the weight of the vehicle body is borne by the torsion axle assembly, such that the unloaded camber angle is greater than the loaded camber angle. A vehicle having such a torsion axle assembly and a method are disclosed.
SUSPENSION ASSEMBLY FOR A REAR ENTRY VEHICLE
A suspension assembly for a vehicle modified to transport an individual using a wheelchair. The modified vehicle includes a lowered floor having an inclined portion to accommodate a ramp. The suspension replaces a portion of the suspension of an original equipment manufactured vehicle to accommodate the lowered floor, which is lowered from the original floor and which includes a width not found in the original floor. The suspension assembly includes a left bushing arm and a right bushing arm operatively connected together by a front and a rear crossmembers. Vehicle frame mounts, coil spring locations, and shock absorber locations are maintained, while accommodating the depth and width of the lowered floor. The additional weight of the vehicle, due to the addition of the lowered floor and anticipated weight of wheelchaired individuals, is accommodated by the suspension to maintain rider comfort.

A suspension system for a vehicle is provided. The vehicle comprises a pair of rear wheels and a prop-shaft. A rear drive unit is operably coupled between the prop-shaft and the pair of rear wheels, the rear drive unit being configured to transmit torque from the prop-shaft to the pair of rear wheels. A twist-beam structure is provided having a first trailing arm and a second trailing arm. Each of the trailing arms is operably coupled to one of the pair of rear wheels. The twist-beam structure further comprising a curved beam member extending between the trailing arms, the curved beam member having a center portion disposed offset from the prop-shaft. A Watt linkage includes a first link coupled to the first trailing arm and a second link coupled to the second trailing arm.

A suspension system for a vehicle is provided. The vehicle comprises a pair of rear wheels and a prop-shaft. A rear drive unit is operably coupled between the prop-shaft and the pair of rear wheels, the rear drive unit being configured to transmit torque from the prop-shaft to the pair of rear wheels. A twist-beam structure is provided having a first trailing arm and a second trailing arm. Each of the trailing arms is operably coupled to one of the pair of rear wheels. The twist-beam structure further comprising a curved beam member extending between the trailing arms, the curved beam member having a center portion disposed offset from the prop-shaft. A Watt linkage includes a first link coupled to the first trailing arm and a second link coupled to the second trailing arm.

[Solving Means] A rolled collar (40) is a steel rolled collar into which a resin bush (90) is pressed-fitted, and which is joined to a joining member by welding. The rolled collar includes a main body part (50) formed in a hollow cylindrical shape, and a clinch part that joins both end surfaces of the main body part together by fitting. The rolled collar includes a notch part (70) formed by cutting off a portion of an annular edge (53) in the main body part. Here, a convex jig determining a position of the main body part at a time of welding is fit into the notch part. The rolled collar includes a cavity part (80) formed to be hollow from an inner circumferential surface side on a wall surface around the notch part to form a clearance (81) between the press-fitted resin bush and an edge portion (71) of the notch part on the inner circumferential surface side.
