VEHICLE TWIST AXLE ASSEMBLY
The twist axle assembly includes a pair of spaced apart trailing arms and a twist beam which is made of a single piece and is operably connected with the trailing arms. The twist beam has a top wall, a bottom wall and a pair of side walls. The twist beam presents a pair of end portions which are bent to present edges that face towards one another when viewed in cross-section, and the twist beam presents a middle portion which extends between the end portions. The middle portion has an opening with a generally elliptical shape formed into the bottom wall for reducing a torsion stiffness of the middle portion of the twist beam in comparison to the end portions.
SUSPENSION BRACKET FOR A UTILITY VEHICLE
A utility cart includes a suspension having an integral suspension bracket having an attachment point for a lateral suspension link, holes through which U-bolts are passed to secure an axle of the utility cart to the bracket, and can include an opening into which a spring pin (e.g. a pin of a leaf spring) can be inserted. The suspension bracket can alternatively include a brake cable attachment feature. The suspension bracket can be cut from sheet stock of material, and stamped into final or near final form. In one embodiment a threaded nut can be attached to the attachment point for the lateral suspension link.
SUSPENSION PERCH BRACKET FOR A UTILITY VEHICLE
A utility cart includes a suspension having an integral perch bracket having a plurality of legs structured to straddle an axle of the utility cart, and can include an opening into which a spring pin (e.g. a pin of a leaf spring) can be inserted. The perch bracket can alternatively include a brake cable attachment feature located on an end of the bracket. In one form the end can extend from one leg and be folded toward an opposing leg. The perch bracket can be cut from sheet stock of material, and stamped into final or near final form. In one embodiment a threaded nut can be attached to the legs of the perch bracket.
Pipe-shaped member and method of closing end portions of same
A pipe-shaped member of the present invention is a pipe-shaped member (1) which includes a flat plate portion (1h1, 1h2) placed in at least one end portion (1a1) of two end portions of the pipe, formed in a flat plate shape, and including groove-shaped recessed portions (ta1, tb1, tb2) formed in one and another extended surfaces in the flat plate shape. The recessed portions (ta1, tb1, tb2) are formed such that the flat plate portion (1h1, 1h2) has at least a substantially W-shape, in a direction crossing a longitudinal direction of the flat plate portion (1h1, 1h2), and with a depth not reaching a boundary (1ha) between one plate (1h1) and the other plate (1h2) of the flat plate portion (1h1, 1h2).
Method for obtaining a suspension arm for automotive vehicles and suspension arm
This disclosure relates to methods for obtaining a suspension arm for automotive vehicles, wherein certain embodiments comprise obtaining two identical parts to form a body, where each part is obtained by means of: a) cutting a metal or composite sheet forming a base plane, such that a central segment and two ends are defined, b) drawing at least one hole in each end, c) stamping each part forming in its central segment two flanges consisting of a first flange and a second flange located on opposite sides of the central segment and oriented perpendicular to the base plane, where said flanges have an asymmetrical arrangement with respect to a midplane passing through the geometric centers of the holes of the two ends and is perpendicular to the base plane, the second flange being separated from the midplane a distance equal to the separation of the first flange from the midplane plus a distance at least equal to the value of the thickness of the sheet or plate.
Method for producing press-formed product and automobile lower arm
A press-formed product includes a main body part having a first end part and a second end part respectively on both ends, and a protruded part that protrudes outward of bending from a bent part of the main body part. On a surface of the top plate part of the main body part, a groove part is provided in a domain on the first end part side from a root of the protruded part. A first vertical wall part extending from the first end part of the main body part to the protruded part has a corner part connecting the main body part and the protruded part. An angle that is formed by a part which is on the main body part side from the corner part and a part which is on the protruded part side from the corner part is an acute angle.
Suspension member for a motor vehicle and method of forming the same
A suspension member for a motor vehicle including a control arm or transverse link having a ball joint seat for receiving a press-fit ball joint. The ball joint seat including a reinforcement section formed from the material of the suspension member in a region thereof provided for friction or press-fit contact with the ball joint. A method for producing the control arm or transverse link includes increasing the material thickness of the reinforcement section by deformation.
VEHICLE TWIST AXLE ASSEMBLY
The twist axle assembly includes a pair of spaced apart trailing arms and a twist beam of which extends in a first direction between the trailing arms. The twist beam includes a pair of end portions and a middle portion. The twist beam further has a pair of side walls and at least one additional wall that extends between the side walls. The side walls in the middle portion are generally parallel with the side walls of the end portions. The twist beam is generally hour-glass shaped with the middle portion having a first width and the end portions have a greater second width. The twist beam also tapers from the first width of the middle portion to the second widths of the end portions for gradually increasing a torsional stiffness from the middle portion to the end portions.
VEHICULAR ARM COMPONENT MANUFACTURING METHOD AND VEHICULAR ARM COMPONENT
Providing a method of manufacturing a vehicular arm component having a torsional rigidity of a predetermined level or less and a sufficient tensile strength in the entire circumferential direction.
A method of manufacturing a vehicular arm component for manufacturing the vehicular arm component 1 having a hollow shape in open cross-section by subjecting a workpiece W, which is a flat plate, extending in an XY plane formed by an X direction and a Y direction to pressing in stages such that two side surfaces W1, W2 of the workpiece in an XZ plane formed by the X direction and a Z direction face one another across a gap G, the method including a restriking process in which a protrusion 113 disposed on a restriking die 110 to be extended in the X direction is arranged in the gap between the two side surfaces facing one another and the two side surfaces are brought into contact with the protrusion such that the workpiece is pressed from an outer periphery to an inner periphery.
