Arrangement for securing a vibration damper of a vehicle

An arrangement for securing a vehicle vibration damper on a wheel support and/or on a vehicle body includes a rubber bearing secured by a fastener, the rubber bearing including at least two rubber bushings. When in an installed position, at least one of the rubber bushings is secured in three longitudinal degrees of freedom relative to the wheel support or the vehicle body, and a rotational degree of freedom of the one of the bushings about the axis of the fastener is blocked by a form-fitting arrangement. The form-fitting arrangement formed by engagement of a nose on the one of the bushings into a recess arranged in a rubber bearing receiving area of the wheel support and/or vehicle body. The nose and the recess are shaped such that the form fitting connection is formed only by installing the fastener, without the need for manually rotating the bushing with a tool.

Damper assembly and a method of forming the damper assembly

A damper assembly includes a housing. A method of forming a damper assembly includes extruding the housing formed of aluminum. The housing defines a first chamber and a first passage spaced from each other, with a first inlet fluidly connecting the first chamber and the first passage. A piston is disposed in the first chamber and is movable in a first direction and a second direction opposite the first direction. A first restrictor valve is disposed in the first passage. The first restrictor valve is configured to restrict a flow of liquid into the first passage from the first chamber and the first inlet as the piston moves in one of the first and second directions which causes the liquid in the first chamber to increase a pressure applied to a first side of the piston to dampen movement of the piston.

VEHICLE SUPPORT STRUCTURE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING VEHICLE SUPPORT STRUCTURE

Provided is a suspension arm manufactured by casting. The suspension arm includes a processing reference hole formed in the casting. The processing reference hole is formed to be elongated in a direction of bending of the suspension arm that occurs in a shaping step. A recess is formed which has one end thereof communicating with the processing reference hole and another end thereof being open to an outer side.

Shaft with surface finished ridges

A ball screw spline actuator includes a shaft, a ball nut, and a ball spline. The shaft includes a helical groove and a spline groove intersecting the helical groove forming intersections having a least one ridge including a first surface finish formed by a first manufacturing operation. The ridge is subsequently reformed through a second manufacturing operation to include a second surface finish to reduce stress concentrations in the ridge from cyclical loading from at least one of the ball nut or the ball spline. In one example, the second manufacturing operation reforms the ridge to include a surface finished edge.

Method for obtaining an arm for multi-link suspensions of automotive vehicles and a suspension arm

A suspension arm for multi-link suspensions of automotive vehicles, comprising a body formed by a hollow extruded profile the cross-section of which has a closed outer contour formed by side walls and comprising at least one inner partition internally splitting the profile into at least two inner cavities, the extruded profile having the length of the arm to be obtained, according to a longitudinal axis of the arm, where a central section of the arm is machined in at least one side wall having no inner partition extending therefrom without the machining ever reaching an inner partition, and where the side walls having the at least one inner partition extending therefrom comprise an end opening in each end area of the arm, between which the central section is arranged, and a method for making the suspension arm.
