MULTI-ZONE HVAC MODULE
An HVAC module for an automotive vehicle includes a housing defining an air inlet, an upper front zone outlet, a lower front zone outlet, and a rear zone air outlet. An evaporator and a heater downstream of the evaporator are disposed in the housing. The air inlet of the housing is divided by a first divider into an OSA portion exclusively receiving outside air and a REC portion exclusively receiving recycled air. Each of the evaporator and the heater has a respective OSA portion receiving the outside air and a REC portion receiving the recycled air entering the HVAC module through the inlet. A second divider between the evaporator and the heater directs the outside air from the REC portion of the evaporator to the REC portion of the heater. Two temperature doors control access of separate partial streams of the recycled air from the evaporator to the heater.
MODULAR CLIMATE SYSTEM ENABLING FLEXIBLE MULTI-ZONE TEMPERATURE AND MODE CONTROL IN AUTOMOTIVE HVAC SYSTEMS
A multi-zone climate control system for vehicles includes a front HVAC unit and one or more additional units that can be configured to provide conditioned air to one or more rear climate zones. The front HVAC unit is adapted to condition air provided to at least one front climate zone. The front HVAC unit may include a cold air outlet that supplies cold air to an electrically-powered heater positioned in a console of the vehicle. The electrically-powered heater includes an electricity-to-air heat exchanger to control a temperature of conditioned air supplied to at least one rear zone of the passenger compartment. The system may include an auxiliary climate control system having an auxiliary heater core and an auxiliary evaporator positioned in a rear portion of the vehicle to provide conditioned air to one or more rear climate zones.
THERMAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE
One example provides a thermal management system for an electric vehicle including a pump to pump a thermal transfer fluid through a number of circulation loops, an electric heater to heat the thermal transfer fluid, a heat exchanger to expel heat from the thermal transfer fluid, a number of valves, and a number of fluid pathways fluidically interconnecting the pump, heater, heat exchanger and valves. The valves being controllable to a number of different positions to form the number of circulation loops, the number of circulation loops including a battery heating circulation loop extending through the heater for heating a battery pack of the vehicle, a secondary components cooling circulation loop extending through the heat exchanger to cool secondary components of the vehicle, including a motor and a motor controller, and a battery cooling circulation loop extending through the heat exchanger to cool the battery pack.
Heater device
The heater device has a sheet shaped main body having a heat generating portion heated by energization and a radiating surface for radiating radiant heat toward a heating object by using heat in the heat generating portion, a plate shaped member arranged on an opposite side with respect to the radiating surface of the main body, and an air layer forming member for forming an air layer between the main body and the plate shaped member arranged on a side opposite to the radiating surface of the main body.
METHOD FOR OPERATING AN AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM IN THE VEHICLE INTERIOR OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A method for operating an air conditioning system, which may include a heating device, to condition air in a vehicle interior of a motor vehicle. At least one first air path and at least one second air path may each fluidically communicate with the air conditioning system and each open out into the vehicle interior. The method may include guiding the air from the vehicle interior via one of (i) the at least one first air path and (ii) the at least one second air path to the air conditioning system as a function of an operating state set in the air conditioning system. The method may also include guiding the air from the air conditioning system via the other of the one of (i) the at least one first air path and (ii) the at least one second air path into the vehicle interior.
INFRARED HEATING MODULE, VEHICLE AND SOFTWARE PROGRAM FOR PROVIDING CLIMATE CONTROL
The present disclosure generally relates to providing climate control within a vehicle. More particularly, the present disclosure relates to using an infrared (IR) heating module having one or more IR panels installed within a roof of a passenger cabin, the IR panel(s) configured to radiate heat to passengers within the vehicle at a low power. Vehicles having the IR heating module installed with various IR panel configurations within the roof are also provided. In addition, programs and instructions embodied within a computer or software program stored on a non-transitory machine-readable medium and executed by the controller of the IR heating module are provided.
Air conditioner apparatus for electric vehicles and air conditioning system for electric vehicles using the same
An air conditioner apparatus for electric vehicles includes: an air conditioning case installed under an under body of a vehicle, and configured to communicate with an interior of the vehicle through an outlet formed through an upper portion of the air conditioning case and circulate conditioned air therein; an HVAC module provided inside the air conditioning case, and configured to adjust temperatures of indoor air and outdoor air and to provide the conditioned air to the interior of the vehicle; and a heat exchange module provided below the HVAC module inside the air conditioning case and configured to exchange heat with the HVAC module depending on whether or not the HVAC module performs a heating or cooling operation.
AUTOMATIC HEATED WIPER SYSTEM
A wiper system for vehicles is provided. The system includes a heated wiper blade assembly, a heated cowl assembly and a controller. The controller receives input from one or more sensors or systems and causes a power source to provide, reduce or stop power to heating elements in the blade and/or cowl depending upon sensed conditions. At least some components in the assembly comprise thermally conductive polymers. The system provides surprisingly advantageous results in that it is effective for melting and clearing ice and snow with a lower than expected pull on a power source such as a battery.
HVAC SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE
A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system for a vehicle may include a heating body positioned inside an HVAC duct of the vehicle, formed between a first electrode portion and a second electrode portion having polarities opposite to each other. The heating body is configured to generate heat when the heating body is electrified to increase a temperature of an air being transported through the HVAC duct.
VEHICLE HEATING DEVICE, AND VEHICLE PROVIDED WITH VEHICLE HEATING DEVICE
A target thermal sensation setter sets target thermal sensations for a finite number of parts into which the occupant is virtually divided. A cabin temperature controller individually controls a cabin air-conditioning unit and an auxiliary heater so that the thermal sensations of the respective parts of the occupant estimated by an occupant thermal sensation estimator fall within a range of the target thermal sensations.
