An HVAC system for a vehicle includes a housing, an evaporator disposed in the housing, and a heater disposed in the housing. The HVAC system further includes a bypass opening defined between an upper end of the evaporator and an upper end of the heater and an intermediate chamber defined by the evaporator, the heater, the housing, and the bypass opening. The HVAC system further includes an upper outlet passage configured to direct air from the HVAC system into a passenger compartment of a vehicle. The evaporator is configured to output a first stream of air into the intermediate chamber and the HVAC system is configured to operate in a first operating condition in which a first portion of the first stream of air will pass through the heater and a second portion of the first stream will bypass the heater by passing from the intermediate chamber through the bypass opening and into the upper outlet passage.

AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM

The present invention relates to an air conditioning system and, more particularly, to an air conditioning system comprising, within a single air conditioning case: a cool air passage in which an evaporator is installed; a warm air passage in which a condenser is installed; an installation space portion in which air conditioner parts such as a compressor are installed; and an air discharge passage for discharging, to the outside, air unnecessary for cooling and heating, thereby enabling attachment and detachment inside a vehicle, and enabling use as a portable air conditioner as well as a vehicle air conditioner. In addition, as the system is capable of cooling and heating, a separate heater core or PTC heater for heating is not required, thereby the structure is simple, and the system is capable of controlling cooling and heating modes through a single operation door, thereby allowing the system to be miniaturized.

HVAC VARIANT FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE

An air handling system for a vehicle comprises a conditioning section for controlling a temperature of a flow of air, a mixing section disposed downstream of the conditioning section with respect to a direction of the flow of the air, and a delivery section disposed downstream of the mixing section with respect to the direction of the flow of the air. The delivery section includes a first chamber, a second chamber, and a third chamber. A dividing plate separates each of the second chamber and the third chamber into a first side portion to a first side of the dividing plate and a second side portion to an opposing second side of the dividing plate. The second side portion of the third chamber is configured to primarily direct the flow of the air towards a rear seat area of the vehicle.

Heat exchanger having partition

A heat exchanger includes multiple tubes, multiple fins, and a partition wall. The multiple fins are stacked alternately with the tubes to form a core including a first section and a second section. The partition wall partitions between the first section and the second section. The first section has multiple drain passages in the vicinity of the partition wall.

The air conditioner for a vehicle has a centrifugal fan and a housing. The centrifugal fan has a fan suction port and a rotary shaft and rotates centering on a rotational axis of the rotary shaft. The housing has a fan housing chamber, an introduction passage, and a wall. The fan housing chamber houses the centrifugal fan. The introduction passage guides air, which flows from an outside of the housing into the housing, to flow toward the centrifugal fan in a first direction intersecting with the rotational axis. The wall partitions the fan housing chamber and the introduction passage from each other and has an opening that faces the fan suction port. The wall has a rim defining the opening and being provided with an annular protruding portion. The annular protruding portion protrudes from the wall toward the introduction passage and covers the opening.
