A vehicle HVAC system delivers airflow to a vehicle occupant cabin having a front row and a rear row. The vehicle HVAC system includes a casing, a front duct, a shifter base assembly and a distribution duct. The front duct defines an airflow passageway that is fluidly coupled to the casing. The shifter base assembly is disposed in the vehicle occupant cabin and includes a base housing defining an airflow passageway that is fluidly coupled to the front duct. The distribution duct defines an airflow passageway that is fluidly coupled to the shifter base assembly and the rear row of the vehicle occupant cabin. The airflow passageways of the casing, the front duct, the base housing and the distribution duct form a continuous passageway through which air flows into the rear row of the vehicle occupant cabin.

HVAC case

An HVAC case having an airflow junction. A mount is at the airflow junction and is configured to individually mount a door and an airflow blocker at the airflow junction. The door is mounted at the mount of the airflow junction to configure the HVAC case for use with HVAC systems configured for airflow through the airflow junction. The airflow blocker is mounted at the mount of the airflow junction to configure the HVAC case for use with HVAC systems not configured for airflow through the airflow junction.

The invention relates to a motor vehicle heating, ventilation and/or air conditioning device (2) comprising a housing (4) comprising: a duct (14) for distributing a flow of air at foot level in the front of the said vehicle, a first (15) and a second (22) mixing chamber, a dividing flap (32) separating the said mixing chambers (15, 22). According to the invention, the housing (4) has a first opening (17) opening into the first mixing chamber (15) and a second opening (27) opening into the second mixing chamber (22), one on each side of the dividing flap (32), and an assembly cavity near the said duct (14), the said device (2) further comprises: a partition (C) able to close off the first (17) or the second (27) opening according to the mode of operation, and an additional module (200; 300) arranged in the assembly cavity to delimit a canal for the circulation of the flow of air between the first (14) or the second (27) opening and the said duct (14). The invention also relates to a corresponding additional module (200; 300) and to a corresponding method of assembly.

Air conditioner for vehicle

Disclosed is an air conditioner for a vehicle. The present invention provides an air conditioner for a vehicle capable of introducing indoor air and outdoor air simultaneously or selectively by forming a double-layer flow in an air conditioner case and capable of separately controlling the temperatures of a front seat and a rear seat.

Vehicle air-conditioning device

In an instrument panel provided in a vehicle cabin front section, a face that projects into a vehicle cabin is formed with a T-shape in vehicle rear view. An air-conditioning unit of a vehicle air-conditioning device is provided at an inside of the instrument panel. In the vehicle air-conditioning device, a foot blower outlet provided on the instrument panel blows an air-conditioned airflow toward the feet of a front seat occupant, and an interior air intake provided on the instrument panel takes in air from inside the vehicle cabin to generate the air-conditioned airflow. The foot blower outlet is formed in a lower portion of a side wall at a vehicle width direction central portion of the instrument panel.

An air-handling system includes an evaporator core and a downstream arranged heater core disposed in an air-handling casing. A primary flow path is formed within the air-handling casing and leads to a primary zone of a passenger compartment. The primary flow path is divided into a primary cool air pathway bypassing the heater core and a primary warm air pathway passing through the heater core. A secondary flow path is formed within the air-handling casing and leads to a secondary zone of the passenger compartment. The secondary flow path includes a secondary cool air pathway branching from the primary flow path downstream of the evaporator core and a secondary warm air pathway branching from the primary flow path downstream of the heater core. The secondary cool air pathway bypasses the heater core and the secondary warm air pathway passes through the heater core.
