Systems and Methods for Controlling a Vehicle HVAC System
Disclosed are climate systems for vehicles and methods for controlling the climate systems. In some implementations, a climate system includes: (1) a temperature sensor configured to measure a temperature within the compartment of the vehicle; (2) a first compressor powered by an engine of the vehicle to compress a refrigerant; (3) a second compressor driven by an electric motor to compress the refrigerant; and (4) a controller electrically coupled to the first compressor and the second compressor. The controller configured to: (1) calculate a thermal load of the compartment based on a difference between a desired temperature and a measured temperature; and, (2) based on the calculated load, selectively activate: (i) the engine, (ii) the first compressor, and/or (iii) the second compressor.
Device and method for controlling operation of transport refrigeration unit
A transport refrigeration unit and a method for controlling the transport refrigeration unit, wherein the transport refrigeration unit has a controller device for operating a compressor of the transport refrigeration unit with a continuously-variable speed, which allows the compressor to run continuously but with a smooth gradient range of speed variations. The controller device allows the transport refrigeration unit to have a start-stop operation stage, continuous run operation stage, and/or a cycle-sentry operation stage.
Method and system for adaptive power engine control
A method for adaptive power engine control of a transport refrigeration unit (TRU) is provided. The method includes determining a current compressor power of a compressor of the TRU. The method also includes determining an adaptive compressor power error of the compressor. Also, the method includes calculating and setting a target compressor power of the compressor based on the current compressor power and the adaptive compressor power error. Further, the method includes determining a suction pressure control point of the compressor based on the target compressor power and a compressor curve map. Moreover, the method includes operating the compressor with the suction pressure control point of the compressor.
VEHICLE CONTROL DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to a control device for a vehicle. The vehicle includes an engine as a drive source, a motor generator as a drive source, a battery for storing electric power generated by the motor generator using an output of the engine, and an exhaust treatment device provided in an exhaust passage of the engine. The control device is configured to execute a temperature rise control that increases the output of the engine and raises a temperature of exhaust gas flowing into the exhaust treatment device.
Electrified vehicle thermal management system
A vehicle thermal management system including a refrigerant circuit, a coolant circuit, a chiller, and a controller is provided. The refrigerant circuit may include an electric air conditioning (eAC) compressor and a pressure sensor. The coolant circuit may include a high-voltage battery. The chiller selectively thermally links the circuits. The controller may be programmed to, responsive to receipt of a sensor signal indicating refrigerant pressure exiting the eAC compressor is greater than a high threshold, output a pressure sensor fault error indicating the pressure sensor is faulty. The system may further include a timer to monitor operational timing of the eAC compressor. The controller may be further programmed to direct the system to operate without monitoring the eAC compressor responsive to the timer indicating the eAC compressor has been off for a time-period less than a time threshold reflective of the eAC compressor not being in an at rest state.
Auto start/stop control based on cooled seat signal systems and methods
Systems and methods for managing auto start of a vehicle during an auto-stop condition may include: determining an operational status of a vehicle climate control system; receiving a target air outlet temperature from the vehicle climate control system; receiving data indicating a state of a cooled seat of the vehicle; and inhibiting a start-engine command to restart an internal combustion engine of the vehicle because of a cabin cooling requirement when the data indicates that the cooled seat of the vehicle is activated.
