AUTOMOBILE HAVING RETRACTABLE REAR QUARTER WINDOWS
An automobile includes a body side panel including: a first pillar disposed rearward of a door of the automobile; a second pillar disposed rearward of the first pillar; an interior panel connecting the first pillar and the second pillar; a rear quarter panel attached to the exterior of the body side panel and forming a cavity between the rear quarter panel and the interior panel; and a retractable window disposed between the first pillar and the second pillar; wherein the retractable window is configured to move between a first position and a second position, the first position being defined by a roof of the automobile, the first pillar, and the second pillar, and the second position being inside the cavity.
HIDDEN DIVISION BAR FOR A VEHICLE WINDOW
A vehicle window system includes a vehicle door that has a window region. The system includes a fixed window having an exterior surface and an interior surface, a division bar, and a movable window. The fixed window is arranged in a first portion of the window region, and the division bar is arranged along a first region of the interior surface. The movable window is arranged in a second portion of the window region and is configured to close against the division bar. The division bar is not directly visible from outside of the vehicle door when viewed at an elevation of the fixed window. To illustrate, the movable window can be configured to move vertically within the first portion of the window region and the fixed window arranged at the top of the window region and the division bar is arranged substantially horizontally along the interior surface.
Window regulator
A window regulator includes a guide rail provided along an ascending/descending direction of a window glass of a vehicle, a carrier plate that slides on the guide rail and travels together with the window glass, cables that pull the carrier plate, a drum on which the cables are partially wound, a motor rotationally driving the drum, and a drum housing provided at a lower end of the guide rail and having a housing space for housing the drum, wherein the drum housing has a wall section provided on an outer side of the drum that is housed in the housing space, and a contact surface of the drum housing coming into contact with the carrier plate is provided at a lower position than an upper end of the wall section in a vertical direction that the window glass travels when the window glass is fully opened.
