Device for closing an opening provided in the body of a vehicle equipped with an end fitting forming a mechanical stop for a sliding shuttle, and corresponding vehicle

A closing device of an opening provided in a structure, comprising a fixed part, wherein an opening is defined, and at least one sliding movable panel guided along two guide rails fitted on one face of the fixed panel, between a closing position, sealing the opening, in a sealing plane defined by the fixed panel, and at least one opening position, in a sliding plane, substantially parallel with the sealing plane, each of the rails bearing at least one shuttle guided in translation in the rail, movable in translation in the guide rails, and switching the movable panel from the sealing position to the at least one sliding position, and slidably moving the movable panel in the sealing plane. According to the invention, at least one of the rails bears, at one of the ends thereof, an end fitting forming a mechanical stop defining a stop position for the shuttle.

Sliding window assembly with flush-closing moving panel

Embodiments described herein relate to window assemblies. In one embodiment, a window assembly includes a fixed panel defining an opening and a rail that attaches to the fixed panel. The window assembly also includes a guide provided on the rail and defining grooves. The window assembly also includes a shoe at least partially overlapping the guide and defining slots. The window assembly further includes a moving panel supported by the shoe and interacting with the guide by pins that extend through the slots and into the grooves such that the slots, together with the grooves, cause the moving panel to slide within the slots and with respect to the fixed panel between a closed state, in which the moving panel blocks the opening and is substantially flush with the fixed panel, and an open state in which the moving panel unblocks the opening.

Method for manufacturing a vehicular rear slider window assembly with retaining element

A method for manufacturing a vehicular rear slider window assembly includes attaching an upper rail and a lower rail at an inner side of a fixed window panel. The lower rail includes a first attaching surface that attaches at the fixed window panel and a second attaching surface opposite the first attaching surface. The method includes disposing a movable window panel in a channel of the lower rail and a channel of the upper rail and attaching a retaining element along the lower rail and at the second attaching surface of the lower rail. The retaining element includes an attaching portion that attaches at the second attaching surface and a retaining portion that extends at least partially across the channel of the lower rail to limit vertical movement of the movable window panel relative to the upper and lower rails.
