The sun visor comprises a first set of clips (31, 32) configured for snap-fit connection of the vanity mirror assembly (1) onto the sun visor body (2) so that the vanity mirror assembly (1) is held firmly against the sun visor body (2) by the first set of clips, and a second set of clips (41, 42; 51, 52) configured for snap-fit connection of the vanity mirror assembly (1) onto the sun visor body (2) allowing for movement of the vanity mirror assembly (1) in relation to the sun visor body (2). If the snap-fit connection by the first set of clips fails after an impact, the vanity mirror assembly may remain attached to the sun visor body by the second set of clips.

A vanity mirror assembly for a vehicle sun visor includes a cover assembly configured to be slideably supported within a frame and to cover a reflective element while in a closed position and to at least partially expose the reflective element to a vehicle interior while in an open position. The cover assembly includes a substantially rigid body portion, one or more flexible arms extending from the substantially rigid body, and a biasing member configured to drive the one or more flexible arms away from the substantially rigid body and into a corresponding groove of the frame.

Expandable mirrors

Various expandable mirrors and a vehicle having the same are described. An expandable mirror may include a first pane having a first reflective surface and a second pane having a second reflective surface. The expandable mirror may also include a mechanism connected with each of the first and second panes. The mechanism may be actuated to expand a viewing area of the mirror such that the expanded viewing area includes both the first and second reflective surfaces. The expandable mirror may also include a third pane having a third reflective surface that contributes to the viewing area when the mirror is expanded. The expandable mirror may also include a manual button configured to actuate or de-actuate the mechanism when pressed. The expandable mirror may also include a positioning motor configured to adjust the orientation of the viewing area of the mirror.

A visor for use in a vehicle is disclosed. The visor comprises a pivot rod and a first and second shell being engagable to form a visor body. The visor also comprises a vanity and a mirror having at least one clear portion arranged at or near an end thereof. The visor also comprises a circuit board secured to the first shell and a light emitting diode secured to a surface of the circuit board. The visor also comprises a ramp arranged in a back surface of the mirror wherein the ramp is aligned with at least one clear portion of the mirror. The visor mirror having a ramp arranged therein may allow for light to be redirected towards the user of the mirror from the LED.

A vanity mirror with lighting function includes: a mounting portion, connected to a vehicle sun visor; a movable portion which can move relatively to the mounting portion; a mirror located in the mounting portion or the movable portion; a power storage unit; a front-open sensing unit for determining whether the vanity mirror is in a front-open state or a folded state; a sensing circuit, wherein when the vanity mirror is in the front-open state, the power storage unit conducts electrical power to the sensing circuit; and a light source for providing lighting function, wherein in the front-open state, whether to emit light and intensity of the light is determined according to the sensing result of the sensing circuit.

A sliding sun visor for use in a vehicle is disclosed. The sun visor includes a first and second visor body shell. The visor also comprises a pivot rod and a carrier slidingly arranged over the pivot rod. The first shell of the visor body includes a monorail arranged on an inside surface thereof. The carrier is slidingly engaged with the first shell wherein the carrier is arranged within or on the monorail. The carrier contacts a top portion of the monorail and a bottom portion of the monorail. The carrier is hence slidingly secured to the monorail and only connected to one of the shells used to engage to form a visor body. The visor bodies are secured via a press fit between a first boss arranged on a first shell and a second boss arranged on the second shell thus creating a secure connection that does not need screws to secure the visor halves to one another.
