Vehicle door system and a method for improving durability of a door system
A door system for a vehicle includes a vehicle body structure and a first door structure. The first door structure includes a first door beam extending between a lower part and an upper part of the vehicle body structure when the first door structure is closed. The first door beam includes a first engaging part arranged to interact with an essentially correspondingly shaped first receiving guide rail when the first door structure is in the closed position. The first receiving guide rail extends in a lateral direction of the vehicle body structure, aligned with an extension of a first cross member extending in a lateral direction of the vehicle body structure. Upon a side collision, the first door beam is arranged to engage with the first cross member and the receiving guide rail is arranged to prevent the first engaging part from moving in a vertical direction.
SIDE DOOR STRUCTURE
A side door structure includes an inner panel, an outer panel, a drain hole, an impact absorbing member, and a fixing member. The inner panel covers a vehicle-widthwise outer side of a side sill. The outer panel faces the inner panel and constitutes a side door together with the inner panel. The drain hole is provided in a lower end part of the inner panel and formed to drain rainwater entering the inside of the side door. The impact absorbing member is disposed inside the side door and extends in a front-rear direction of a vehicle body. The fixing member fixes the impact absorbing member to the inner panel at a position higher than a position facing the side sill. The fixing member is set to have a fixing strength at which the impact absorbing member is releasable upon input of an impact load of a predetermined load or more.
IMPACT-ABSORBING MEMBER FOR AUTOMOBILE DOOR, AUTOMOBILE DOOR, BLANK, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING IMPACT-ABSORBING MEMBER FOR AUTOMOBILE DOOR
This impact-absorbing member for an automobile door is an impact-absorbing member for an automobile door formed from a blank, which is a single-piece blank or a tailored blank, and includes: a connection band portion extending in a first direction; and at least three connected portions each having one end connected to the connection band portion and extending in a second direction intersecting the first direction, in which the connected portion has an impact-absorbing portion that is a closed cross-sectional structure.
Door for a motor vehicle
A door for a motor vehicle comprising: a lock available in a closed configuration and in an open configuration; a support body comprising a first portion and a second portion, which are integral to one another, when said door is in a normal operating condition; a ratchet supported by the first portion of the support body; a Bowden cable, which is interposed between the ratchet and the lock, can be operated by said ratchet to cause the lock to shift from the closed configuration to the open configuration and is at least partly housed in a first seat defined by the first portion of the support body; the support body comprises a preferential breaking area designed to break, in use, due a predetermined load in case of impact of the door, so as to determine the separation of the first portion carrying the Bowden cable and the ratchet from the second portion of the support body.
