Rear access door latch and sealing systems

The present disclosure generally relates to a two-door closure system for a motor vehicle including a body having an A-pillar and a C-pillar being spaced from one another. According to an aspect of the disclosure, the closure system includes a front door having a front edge that is pivotably connected to the A-pillar. The closure system also includes a rear door that has a rearward edge that is pivotably coupled to the C-pillar of the vehicle body. At least one swivel hinge unit is provided that has a first pivot pin that is pivotably connected to the rearward edge of the rear door, and a second pivot pin for being pivotably connected to the C-pillar of the vehicle body to allow the rear door to initially pivot and translate away from the front door prior to pivoting the rear door between an open and closed position about the second pivot pin.

Door structure for a vehicle

A vehicle door structure includes two doors, a weatherstrip, a moving device and a control device. The two doors are disposed adjacently at a vehicle side portion with no pillar therebetween. The weatherstrip is provided at one of the doors and is disposed to change a distance between the weatherstrip and the other door. The moving device moves the weatherstrip in a direction of putting the weatherstrip into contact with and a direction of separating the weatherstrip from the other door. When it is determined that the two doors are closed and neither is opening or closing, the control device controls movement of the moving device to put the weatherstrip into contact with the other door. When a single door is closed and the counterpart door is opening or closing, the control device controls movement of the moving device in the direction of separating the weatherstrip from the other door.

Passenger vehicle and door structure

A passenger vehicle a vehicle body, a front door, and a rear door. The vehicle body comprises a forward base structure, a rearward base structure, and a floor structure extending between the forward base structure and the rearward base structure, which cooperatively define a passenger compartment and a continuous opening for a passenger to enter into and exit out of the passenger compartment. The front door is movable between a first closed position and a first open position. The rear door is movable between a second closed position and a second open position. When the front door is in the first closed position and the rear door is simultaneously in the second closed position, the continuous opening is closed cooperatively by the front door and the rear door.

DOOR CONTROL DEVICE

A door control device is applied to a vehicle including a vehicle body having a first opening and a second opening adjacent to each other, a first door configured to open and close the first opening, a second door configured to open and close the second opening, a first drive unit configured to open and close the first door between a fully open position where the first opening is fully opened and a fully closed position where the first opening is fully closed, and a second drive unit configured to open and close the second door between a fully open position where the second opening is fully opened and a fully closed position where the second opening is fully closed. The door control device includes: a first control unit configured to control the first drive unit based on the operation command signal; and a second control unit configured to control the second drive unit based on the operation command signal, the operation command signal being a signal for operating both the first door and the second door. When the operation command signal is transmitted to the first control unit and the second control unit while the first door and the second door are stopped, the first control unit starts an operation of the first door and the second control unit starts an operation of the second door, and when the operation command signal is transmitted to the first control unit and the second control unit while at least one of the first door and the second door is in an opening and closing operation, the first control unit restricts the operation of the first door, and the second control unit restricts the operation of the second door.

DOOR LATCH DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

A door latch device for a vehicle applied to a vehicle without a B-pillar, includes a latch portion, a pop-up guide portion, and a rebound locking portion including a locking claw lever, a locking pawl lever and a locking pawl link lever on the pop-up guide portion, so that, when a door is subjected to a closing operation by a swing operation, a striker is locked with the locking claw lever to prevent the door from rebounding.

A door assembly includes a door, a door actuator mechanism configured to transition the door between an open position and a closed position, a first latch configured to hold the door in the closed position, and a second latch engaging with a portion of the door actuator mechanism and being configured to hold the door in the closed position. The second latch includes a cam and a biasing member coupled to the cam. The biasing member is configured to transition the cam between a first position in which the cam engages the portion of the door actuator mechanism, and a second position in which the cam disengages the portion of the door actuator mechanism.

ROCKER ASSEMBLY FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE

An autonomous vehicle including a body defining a door opening for a front door and a rear door. The doors are attached to the body a track that guides the doors between an open position and a closed position. A rocker assembly includes an outer rocker panel defining a slot, an inner rocker panel attached to the outer rocker panel, and an insert including an upper tube and a lower tube disposed between the outer rocker panel and the inner rocker panel. The tubes extend between a front end and a rear end of the rocker assembly, a track is assembled between the upper and lower tubes, and the slot in the outer rocker panel provides access to the track for brackets that have rollers that engage the track. The brackets are attached to the doors.

Apparatus for controlling bus doors

An apparatus for controlling bus doors (14, 16) that are arranged as a pair of doors that move in coordinated relation between door open positions and door closed positions, enables passengers to access an interior area (12) of a bus (10). The apparatus includes an actuator (28, 226). The actuator includes a drive lever (34, 228) that is selectively rotationally movable between rotational positions in which both of the doors are in the open positions and in the closed positions. Exemplary arrangements include at least one controller (128) that is operative to prevent the doors from causing damage to or from being damaged by engagement with obstructions. The controller further enables a bus driver or other authorized user to control access to the interior area of the bus using a user mobile device (144).
