Convertible Top Having Two Links Connected to Each Other Via a Coupling Link
A convertible top linkage which is displaceable between a closed and position, and having a link assembly on either side of a vertical longitudinal center plane of the top, each link assembly having a first and second link, the first link and the second link being pivotable relative to a common base and connected to each other via a coupling link which is hinged to the first link via a fixed joint and to the second link via a mobile joint. The second link may have a guide track for a guiding element of the coupling link, the guide track keeping the mobile joint in position relative to the second link when the two links are being pivoted in a defined angle range, the mobile joint being shifted relative to the second link when the two links are being pivoted outside of the defined angle range.
CONVERTIBLE TOP AND VEHICLE HAVING SUCH A CONVERTIBLE TOP
Convertible top linkage arrangements on both of its two sides relative to the top's vertical longitudinal center plane pivotally mounted on a fixed main bearing, fastenable to a vehicle front wind apron by a front bow, connecting the arrangements to each other, both arrangements having a roof link whose front end reaches to the front wind apron in a closing position, the front bow fastenable to a deployment link on each side, the deployment link pivotally mounted on the respective roof link so that a fold section, which can be pivoted between a closing position, in which the deployment links extend along the roof links, and an opening position, in which the deployment links are pivoted with respect to the roof links, is formed by the front bow and the deployment link, the fold section taking its closing position with respect to the roof links when pivoting the top linkage.
Folding soft top with lift assist
A soft top assembly which includes lift assist and improved fabric management. The assembly includes front side rails pivotally connected to rear side rails. A plurality of fabric control bows with control linkages provide fabric control to the top material during pivoting of the front side rails. A first and second gas strut are attached to the rear side rails to assist lifting and controlled motion as the top is moved between a closed position and open sunroof position, as one strut is fully loaded and compressed while the other strut is fully loaded and open, for lift assist and dampening.
Linkage flap arrangement having a main cover panel and an additional cover panel
A linkage flap arrangement of a convertible vehicle includes a flap bearing mounted permanently to the vehicle. A cover panel arrangement is pivotably mounted to the vehicle by the flap bearing. The cover panel arrangement is movable between a closed position closing a linkage opening of the vehicle and an open position releasing the linkage opening and includes a main cover panel and an additional cover panel. The additional cover panel is pivotable with respect to the main cover panel and is driven by a drive motor arranged at the flap bearing. The drive motor drives a cover panel transmission when pivoting the cover panel arrangement with respect to the flap bearing, the cover panel transmission being arranged at the cover panel arrangement and driving the additional cover panel in order to pivot it with respect to the main cover panel.
Top of a convertible vehicle and convertible vehicle having such a top
A top for a convertible vehicle, having a top cover and a top linkage which can be displaced between a covering position, in which a vehicle interior is covered, and a storage position, in which the vehicle interior is open at the top, and which may have, on either side of a vertical longitudinal center plane of the top, a link assembly having a four-bar linkage comprising a first main link, a second main link, and a coupling link, the first main link and the second main link each being pivotably mounted on a vehicle-attached main bearing, and a front bow which fixes the top to a front header of the vehicle in the covering position extending between the two link assemblies. The front bow is rigidly attached to the first main link of the respective four-bar assembly on either side.
Top having a loading aid function and convertible vehicle having such a top
A top for a convertible vehicle, having a top cover and a top linkage which can be displaced between a covering position and a storage position, in which the vehicle interior is open at the top, and which may have a link assembly on either side of a vertical longitudinal center plane of the top, the top linkage having a corner bow which extends in the transverse direction of the vehicle and which defines an area of transition of the top cover between a roof portion and a rear portion when the top linkage is in the covering position. When the top linkage is in the covering position, the corner bow is secured against pivoting by means of at least one blocking element disposed on a pivoting part of the top linkage and can be displaced from the covering position into a loading position by displacing the pivoting part.
Top having a locking mechanism
The invention relates to a top for a convertible vehicle, comprising a top cover and a top linkage which is displaceable between a covering position, in which a vehicle interior is covered, and a storage position, in which the vehicle interior is uncovered, and which comprises a link assembly on either side of a vertical longitudinal center plane of the vehicle, each link assembly being pivotably mounted on a vehicle-attached main bearing and securable in at least two positions of the top linkage by means of a locking device comprising a lock element disposed on a first link of the link assembly, a first lock counterelement, and a second vehicle-attached lock counterelement. The first lock counterelement of each locking device is disposed on a second link of the respective link assembly.
Soft top window supports and vehicles with soft top window supports
Supports for rear windows and rear window panels of a soft top structure may include a first support arm pivotably coupled to a portion of a vehicle. A second support arm may be pivotably coupled to the first support arm, and may further be pivotably coupled to a rear window panel of the soft top structure. The first support arm and the second support arm can be connected to pivot relative to each other to form an angle less than 180 in an open position, and an angle substantially greater than 180 in a closed position. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also included.
Top of a convertible vehicle comprising panel bows
A top of a convertible vehicle is provided having a displaceable top cover and a top linkage on both sides with respect to a vertical longitudinal center plane of the top, each linkage arrangement having two main links, pivotably mounted on a main bearing fixed to the vehicle and one of which is driven by means of a main drive, panel bows extending between the bilaterally arranged linkage arrangements, a first one of said panel bows being a front bow, a second one being a front center bow, a third one being a rear center bow and a fourth one being a rear window bow, wherein a tension bow is arranged between the bilaterally arranged linkage arrangements, which limits the top cover at the rear in the closed position and is displaceable between a lowered position and a lifted position by means of a tension rod arrangement.
Arrangement of a cover of a folding-top compartment in a cabriolet
A cover (9) of a folding-top compartment in a cabriolet vehicle can be pivoted by way of links (10, 10) between a position in which the cover (9) covers the folding-top compartment and a position in which the cover (9) does not cover the folding-top compartment. The cover (9) has, at a distance from its pivoting connection, at least one first guide element (15), and on the body, there is provided at least one second guide element (18). During the transfer of the cover (9) into its closed position, the two guide elements (15, 18) interact, and guide the cover (9), as far as the closed position.
