A truck cover system is proposed according to some embodiments of the present invention. The truck cover system includes: a rail coupled to a wall of a truck, wherein the rail comprises a channel on a top portion of the rail and a latching slot at a side of the rail; a latching insert inserted in the latching slot, wherein the latching insert comprises a first through hole and a positioning hole; a latching positioner comprising a first side and a second side opposite the first side, wherein the latching positioner comprises a second through hole aligned with the first through hole and a positioning pin aligned with the positioning hole, wherein the latching positioner further comprise a stop plate pivotably coupled to the second side of the latching positioner; and a latching housing releasably latched to the latching positioner.

A bed cap assembly for a cargo area of a vehicle, the cargo area includes a first bed wall and a second bed wall that is arranged at an angle relative to the first bed wall. The bed cap assembly includes a first bed cap configured for attachment to the first bed wall and a second bed cap configured for attachment to the second bed wall. The first bed cap includes a first channel, and the second bed cap includes a second channel. The first channel and the second channel are connected together. One or both of the first channel and the second channel may include a drain for evacuating fluid and/or debris from the first channel, the second channel, or both.

The invention relates to a panel joining arrangement for a vehicle canopy. The vehicle canopy includes at least one three panel join where a side panel, roof panel and end panel of the vehicle canopy meet. The panel joining arrangement comprises first and second lip portions formed in the side panel of the vehicle canopy and a third lip portion formed in the roof panel. The first and second lip portions are longitudinally offset and transversely overlapping in relation to a length of the side panel. The third lip portion is configured to mate with the second lip portion at the three panel join of the vehicle canopy such that the third lip portion is located adjacent to and substantially flush with the first lip portion.

Folding cover attachment systems

A truck that includes a bed section located rear of a cab section where the bed section is bounded on each side by opposing first and second upward-extending side walls, respectively. The truck includes a tonneau cover which has a first panel section pivotable with respect to the opposing first and second upward-extending side walls. A latching assembly is attached to the first panel section that selectively secures and releases the first panel section with respect to the first and second upward-extending side walls of the truck. The latching assembly includes at least one adjustable pinch latch assembly. The pinch latch assembly includes a latch handle portion and a latch base located on the first panel section adjacent the latch handle portion.

The assembly incorporates a readily accessible rear latching system that reduces or eliminates interference with the tonneau cover during operation. The assembly also incorporates a tonneau cover tensioning system. The tension seals out environmental elements and holds the tonneau cover and locating bows in place. The assembly holds the tonneau in the closed tension state keeping the tonneau cover secured and tight until the cover is opened by an operator. The assembly is movable between a closed position and a fully open/stowable position and any intermediate positions. The assembly is also movable between at least a first open position and the deployed position for more limiting access to the cargo bed of the vehicle when desired.
