A TRAILER-BASED MOBILE OBSERVATORY ENCLOSURE
A trailer-based mobile observatory is provided that has a roof that is stable under gravity in the both the opened and closed positions to ensure better mobility and robustness for travel while eliminating the risk of the roof opening during travel. This ensures that if there is any mechanical failure while the roof is in the closed position, the roof will remain closed. The trailer-based mobile observatory enclosure can be designed to house one or more telescopes and to enable remote and robotic operation. The enclosure is designed for easy deployment and reliable operation with much thought put into possible failures and ensuring that any failure that occurs does not put the telescope and instruments at risk.
VEHICLE CONVERTIBLE TOP SYSTEMS
A vehicle includes a vehicle body with a truck bed at least partially defining a cargo area, a tonneau cover at least partially enclosing the cargo area, a vehicle interior with passenger seating, and a modular, multi-component hard top assembly. The hard top assembly is configured to selectively and removably couple interchangeably between (i) the vehicle body to provide an enclosed configuration at least partially enclosing the vehicle interior and (ii) the tonneau cover. The multi-component hard top assembly is detachable from the vehicle body to provide an open air configuration for the vehicle interior.
REMOVABLE REAR WINDOW ASSEMBLY
A vehicle includes a body having a wall extending cross-vehicle and having an upper edge defining a roller surface with at least one locator aperture, a structural frame at least partially defining a rear window opening with the wall, and a removable rear window assembly configured for removable coupling with the vehicle. The removable rear window assembly includes at least one rolling locator assembly configured to roll across the roller surface to support at least a portion of a weight of the rear window assembly to facilitate assisting a user with installing and/or removing the rear window assembly into or out of the rear window opening.
VEHICLE CONVERTIBLE TOP SYSTEMS
A vehicle includes a vehicle body including a truck bed at least partially defining a cargo area, a vehicle interior with front passenger seating and rear passenger seating, and a modular, multi-component hard top assembly. The hard top assembly is configured to selectively and removably couple interchangeably between (i) the vehicle body to provide an enclosed configuration at least partially enclosing the vehicle interior, and (ii) the truck bed to function as a truck bed storage cover to enclose the cargo area and provide a securable storage compartment. The multi-component hard top assembly is detachable from the vehicle body to provide an open air configuration for the vehicle interior.

VEHICLE CONVERTIBLE TOP SYSTEMS
A modular, multi-component hard top assembly for a vehicle having an interior with front passenger seating, rear passenger seating, and a rear cargo area is provided. In one example implementation, the hard top assembly includes a base frame configured to removably couple to a body of the vehicle, and a plurality of removable roof panels selectively coupleable to the base frame to create a substantially contiguous roof over the vehicle interior. Each removable roof panel of the plurality of removable roof panels is separately removable from the base frame to provide an open air configuration at that specific location of the hard top assembly while enabling a user to detach, remove, and transport a smaller portion of the hard top assembly without assistance or specialized equipment.
ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE OF TRUCK CAP
This disclosure is of an innovative article and manufacturing method therefore. The article is a truck cap which may be selectively assembled and mounted to an associated pickup truck bed by a single person. The article 10 features two primary members which can be selectively opened or closed to carry cargo. The article includes a locking mechanism which enables the contents of the truck bed to be safely locked and secured.
ARTICLE AND METHOD OF MANUFATURE OF TRUCK CAP
Disclosed herewith is a truck cap for removably covering a vehicle bed. The truck cap includes a first and second cover member extending between a cab and a tailgate of the vehicle. The cover members are pivotably connected to driver and passenger side panels which adjoin the vehicle bed. The cover members pivot between an open position and a closed position. Raised portions are formed along the top surfaces and extend over abutting edges of the cover members opposite the pivot edges. The abutting edges are in abutment when the cover members are in the closed position, such that the raised portions interlock to cover the abutting edges. The cover members are preferably formed of a plastic material by a rotational molding process.
COLLAPSIBLE FOLDING TRUCK TRUNK
A collapsible trunk for use with a vehicle having a wheel well. The trunk comprises a base wall and a side wall pivotally connected thereto. The side wall extends from the base wall and terminates at an upper edge. The side wall and base wall collectively define a storage cavity. The base wall and the side wall each have an expandable portion conformable to the wheel well in response to placement of the base wall and the side wall over the wheel well. The trunk is selectively transitional between a collapsed configuration and a deployed configuration. In the collapsed configuration, the base panels overlap each other, and in the deployed configuration, the plurality of base panels are co-planar to each other. The upper edge of the side wall moves away from the base wall as the trunk transitions from the collapsed configuration toward the deployed configuration.
