A coffee cartridge containing unground coffee beans, said cartridge having walls defining a chamber in which the beans are confined, the cartridge being adapted to serve as a grinding and extraction chamber for the coffee beans.

An apparatus for roasting and cooling loose products includes an oven with a housing including an upper and a lower section with glass doors. The apparatus has an air and a gas distribution grid connected to the upper and lower sections. In addition, the apparatus includes a high-pressure ventilator in the upper section having an outlet connected to the air duct, a rotor drum installed over the gas distribution grid, a feeding tray located in the upper section, a heater located in the lower section and configured to heat air and a hopper located on top of the housing above the rotor drum and configured to feed the loose products into the oven. The hopper includes one or more strain gauges configured to weigh the loose products. An opening located adjacent the hopper intakes fresh air intake and outtakes humidified air and a horizontal cooler chills the loose products.

The present invention relates to a process for roasting coffee, in particular to roasting unroasted coffee beans in the presence of superheated steam followed by roasting without steam. Further aspects of the invention are a roast coffee and a container for use in a beverage preparation device, the container containing the roast coffee.

The present disclosure relates to a roasting apparatus and a method of controlling the roasting apparatus, and more particularly, to a roasting apparatus for roasting objects while stirring the objects in a roasting chamber, and a method of controlling the roasting apparatus. An roasting apparatus for heating objects according to the present disclosure includes a roasting chamber part which includes: a cylindrical roasting chamber that extends in a vertical direction and has an internal space in which the objects are stirred; and a rotary stirring part that rotates to stir the objects received in the roasting chamber and rotates about a stirring axis defined in the vertical direction. The roasting apparatus further includes heat source parts which supply heat to the roasting chamber part.

A roaster for roasting articles includes a containing device, an air supplying device, a first separating device, and a collector device. The containing device defines a roasting chamber. The air supplying device generates a heated air stream that flows into the roasting chamber. The first separating device has a shell unit disposed above the containing device, and a first separating member disposed in the shell unit and configured such that impurities which are carried along with the heated air stream are filtered out from the heated air stream. The collector device is connected to the shell unit for collecting the impurities filtered out from the heated air stream.

One embodiment of the invention relates to apparatus (10) for roasting coffee beans, the apparatus comprising: a chamber (12) in which a supply of coffee beans can be received for roasting; means (15) for heating air; and means (20) for driving heated air into the chamber (12) for roasting coffee beans received therein; wherein the air driving means (20) and chamber (12) are configured and arranged so that coffee beans located in the chamber (12) circulate generally horizontally about the periphery of the chamber (12) when the air driving means (20) drives heated air into the chamber (12).

An apparatus includes a receptacle configured to receive a container containing a substance for processing. The container includes a readable tag having processing information associated with the substance. The apparatus also includes a processing chamber operably coupled to the receptacle and configured to receive the substance and process the substance. The invention relates to an apparatus (1) and a method for more convenient roasting of coffee beans. The apparatus (1), which is provided for roasting coffee beans, comprises: a chamber (10) in which coffee beans can be received for roasting, wherein the chamber (10) comprises an opening (13), and a device for roasting the coffee beans received in the chamber (10). The chamber (10) is movable with respect to a movement axis into different positions, wherein these positions comprise a roasting position, preferably a bean reception position, and a bean discharge position, wherein in the roasting position the device is arranged to roast the coffee beans received in the chamber (10), in the bean reception position, if present, the chamber (10) is arranged to receive, via the opening (13), coffee beans for subsequent roasting in the roasting position, and in the bean discharge position the chamber (10) is arranged such that the coffee beans can be discharged via the opening (13) from the chamber (10).

An apparatus includes a receptacle configured to receive a container containing a substance for processing. The container includes a readable tag having processing information associated with the substance. The apparatus also includes a processing chamber operably coupled to the receptacle and configured to receive the substance and process the substance. The apparatus further includes a controller operably coupled to the processing chamber and configured to generate one or more processing instructions based on the processing information in the readable tag and further based on additional processing information received from a remote device. The processing is also configured to process the substance based on the one or more processing instructions.
