A vehicle control system that ensures a sufficient distance to empty in the event of a failure of a clutch for changing an operating mode of a vehicle. The control system is configured to: determine a reduction in performance of the clutch based on a value of a parameter for determining a performance of the clutch; and select the operating mode in which a distance to empty is longer and inhibit to actuate the engagement device, when a reduction in performance of the engagement device is determined.

An apparatus including a transmission mechanism in a power transfer path between a drive source and wheels; an oil pressure control device supplying lubricating oil to the transmission mechanism; and a control part outputting an electrical instruction to increase a flow rate of the supplied lubricating. When the control part outputs an electrical instruction to the oil pressure control device to increase a flow rate of lubricating oil supplied to the transmission mechanism, and determines that the flow rate of lubricating oil supplied to the transmission mechanism from the oil pressure control device does not increase as indicated by the electrical instruction (time t1), the control part considers that the oil pressure control device is in an abnormal state, and can impose a limitation that an absolute value of torque of the transmission mechanism transferred between the wheels and the drive source be reduced (time t1-t5).

CONTROL DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

When an abnormality associated with power transmission in a power transmission path which is formed such that power of an engine or the like is able to be transmitted to driving wheels has occurred and a vehicle speed is equal to or higher than a predetermined vehicle speed, a limp-home travel control unit switches a limp-home travel mode to a first limp-home travel mode in which the power of the engine or the like is able to be transmitted to the driving wheels through the power transmission path. When an abnormality associated with power transmission in the power transmission path has occurred and the vehicle speed is lower than the predetermined vehicle speed, the limp-home travel control unit switches the limp-home travel mode to a second limp-home travel mode in which limp-home travel is performed using power of a second electric motor.

VEHICLE CONTROL APPARATUS

A vehicle control apparatus to be applied to a hybrid vehicle includes a continuously variable transmission, a clutch mechanism, and a travel processor. The continuously variable transmission is coupled to an engine and a first motor via an input passage, and coupled to drive wheels via an output passage. The clutch mechanism is provided on the output passage. When the travel mode is switched from a first mode in which the clutch mechanism is engaged to the second mode in which the clutch mechanism is released, the travel processor releases the clutch mechanism and stops the continuously variable transmission while maintaining a speed ratio of the continuously variable transmission. When the travel mode is switched from the second mode to the first mode, the travel processor synchronizes rotation speeds of input-side and output-side portions of the clutch mechanism by controlling the continuously variable transmission, and engages the clutch mechanism.

There are included a transmission mechanism that includes an input member driven by an engine and an output member drive-coupled to wheels and that can change a gear ratio between the input member and the output member; a clutch SSC that is interposed between an output shaft of the engine and the input member and can connect and disconnect power transmission between the output shaft of the engine and the input member of the transmission mechanism; and a control part that controls engagement and disengagement of the clutch SSC by electrical instructions. When the control part determines that a drag state of the clutch SSC has occurred (t2) when the control part outputs an electrical instruction to bring the clutch SSC into a disengaged state, the control part outputs an electrical instruction to bring the clutch SSC into a completely engaged state (t3 to t4).

ELECTRICAL POWER CONTROL METHOD

Systems and methods are described for electrical power control of a hybrid vehicle. A change in an electrical load of an ancillary component of the vehicle is determined. In response to determining the change in the electrical load of the ancillary component, an electrical load of an electrically heated catalyst of the vehicle is adjusted.

Control system comprising at least one electronic control unit for controlling an internal combustion engine in a hybrid vehicle

A control system has at least one electronic control unit for controlling an internal combustion engine in a hybrid vehicle, which records at least the vehicle speed and the driver's desired driving performance and the driving performance specified by a safety control system or a driver assistance system. The control unit is designed such that, below a pre-defined vehicle speed threshold and/or in the event of recognition of an urban area, while in a purely electric driving mode, it only engages the internal combustion engine when the current desired driving performance exceeds a pre-defined upper threshold, preferably once the maximum tractive force at the wheel for purely electric driving is at least reached.
