DIESEL FUEL GUARD
20170066643 · 2017-03-09 ·

A device is provided to prevent the accidental introduction of an incorrect liquid into a tank, such as the introduction of gasoline into the fuel system of a diesel fuel container. The device discriminates between nozzle diameters, allowing entrance of nozzle diameters at or greater than a predetermined minimum diameter while inhibiting entrance of nozzles having diameters less than the predetermined minimum diameter. A closure mechanism prevents access to a fuel container interior and a releasable locking mechanism responsive to nozzle diameters allows the closure mechanism to open and close to allow access to the fuel container interior.

Disclosed is an opening and closing device including a closing member which is turned to an opening position by inserting a fuel-filling nozzle to open a fuel-filling aperture. The closing member includes a pair of flap bodies and a biasing device which positions each of the flap bodies in a closing position by a biasing force. The pair of flap bodies each includes a turning assembly portion as the center of the turning and an abutment portion with respect to the other flap body and is each configured to press its front surface portion against a hole edge portion of a passage hole of the fuel-filling nozzle by the biasing force and presses the abutment portion against the abutment portion of the other flap body.

Fueling device

A fueling device comprises a resin passage-forming member configured to form a fuel path, a fuel path end member and a covering member. A resin sealing member constituting the fuel path end member is located on a filler port side of the fuel path and is welded to the passage-forming member about an axis of the fuel path to provide a seal against the passage-forming member by welding about the axis. The covering member is arranged to cover a welded part about the axis at which the sealing member is welded to the passage-forming member from outside of the fuel path with leaving a gap about the axis, which is formed between the welded part and the covering member and is divided into a plurality of sections. The covering member is protruded from an outer peripheral wall of the passage-forming member and is supported by the outer peripheral wall such as to form the gap. The covering member is linked with the outer peripheral wall of the passage-forming member by linkage sections formed between adjacent sections of the gap divided into the plurality of sections. This configuration suppresses deformation of a welded part between a pipe main body and an inner member by an external force.
