VEHICLE FILLER NECK MOUNTED FUEL FILTER SYSTEM
A vehicle filler neck mounted fuel filter system (filter system) is disclosed. The filter system may be configured to filter undesirable particulate matter and impurities from entering a vehicle's gas tank from a gas pump nozzle. The filter system may provide a filter tube that incorporates the primary filtering elements (e.g. mesh) and slides into a vehicles filler neck, secured and mounted in an assembly that can include a filter tube holder, compression sleeve, a pressure valve assembly and other backpressure-alleviating features, and a cap. A filter system can be sized and configured to accommodate a wide array of form factors and vehicles, including gasoline and diesel engine vehicles and high-flow commercial vehicles.
Biodiesel resistant PVC/NBR rubber composition
A PVC/NBR rubber composition includes (A) 100 PHR polyblend (33-45 ACN) PVC/NBR, (B) 20-50 PHR conductive carbon black, (C) 2-20 PHR rice husk ash containing at least 90% SiO.sub.2, wherein the rubber composition has electrical resistivity of less than 110.sup.6 measured according to SAE J2260.
Tank with ventilation canal comprising cover
The invention relates to a tank (1) for storing a liquid, comprising a wall (10) made of plastic and a device for stopping the filling of said tank (1) with a liquid at a maximum fill level, this device extending inside the tank (1) and comprising at least one opening (71) of which the position inside the tank (1) fixes the said maximum fill level. The device that stops the filling of this tank (1) comprises a first part formed with the wall (10) and a second part which is fixed hermetically to the first part.
PIPE HOLDER
A pipe holder for holding a pipe member at a vehicle body comprises a metallic member including a metallic clamp part that grasps and holds a portion of a fueling pipe to which a protection member is attached, and a metallic fixing part with a metallic engagement pawl part; and a resin clamp that, surrounds and holds the fueling pipe in a peripheral direction with the fueling pipe being grasped by the metallic member. The resin clamp comprises: a first resin member including a first clamp part; and a second resin member including a second clamp part facing the first clamp part and a resin fixing part with a resin engagement pawl part. The metallic engagement pawl part and the resin engagement pawl part are overlaid on each other to form an engagement unit. The engagement unit is engaged with an engagement opening of the vehicle body. When the engagement unit and the engagement opening are in engagement, a vertical lower end of a portion of the metallic engagement pawl part inserted into the engagement opening is located below a lower end of the engagement opening.
PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING FILLER TUBE AND FILLER TUBE
A filler tube including a cylindrical body and flange is manufactured using a cylindrical workpiece. A material forms an outermost layer in the cylindrical body and flange of the cylindrical workpiece. Dividable molds move at a first speed upon adhering the cylindrical workpiece onto the site for forming the cylindrical body, thereby giving the cylindrical body a predetermined diametrical thickness; and then move at a second speed being slower than the first speed upon adhering the cylindrical workpiece onto the other site for forming the flange, thereby filling up the flange with the material and other materials for forming the flange over a diametrical range to be welded onto the fuel tank while making the diametrical thickness of the flange greater than that of the cylindrical body.
Fuel tank joint
A fuel tank joint includes a tubular joint body and an entry restriction member. The joint body includes a support portion. The entry restriction member includes a body tube, a groove, a guide, and an engagement hook. The body tube has opposite open ends in the flow direction of fuel. The groove extends upstream from the downstream end of the body tube and is engaged with the support portion. The guide is formed in part of the body tube that includes the downstream end of the body tube and guides the groove to the support portion by contacting the support portion when the body tube is inserted into the joint body. The engagement hook is formed in a downstream end section of the body tube and engaged with the support portion, from a downstream side, in a state in which the groove is engaged with the support portion.
Fueling device
A fueling device comprises a filler neck that is configured to form a fuel flow path, a cover member, and a restraint portion. An engagement projection provided as an engagement portion of the cover member is engaged with an engaged recess provided as an engaged portion of the filler neck, so that the cover member is mounted to the filler neck on an opening side of the fuel flow path. The restraint portion is configured to restrain the cover member including an engagement extension portion downstream of the engagement projection in the fuel flow path to an outer circumferential wall of the filler neck. This configuration suppresses expansion and deformation of the cover member and avoids separation of the cover member from the filler neck, while maintaining the mounting property of the cover member.
FUELING APPARATUS
A fueling apparatus includes a filler tube including: a fitable cylindrical portion fitted around an outer peripheral face on a filler neck's outlet side; a tapered cylindrical portion formed to have a major diameter on one of the opposite sides adjacent to the fitable cylindrical portion, and formed to have a minor diameter on the other opposite side across from the fitable cylindrical portion; and a minor-diameter cylindrical portion connected to the tapered cylindrical portion on the minor-diameter side, formed to have a minor diameter being smaller than that of the fitable cylindrical portion, and formed to have a predetermined inside diameter being set up based on a fuel distribution condition from the filler neck to the fuel tank. The filler neck is formed to have an outlet inside diameter being larger than the predetermined inside diameter in the minor-diameter cylindrical portion of the filler tube.
Multi-use fuel filler tube
A fuel tube filler neck includes a first thread is formed on an inner surface and a second thread formed on an outer surface. The first thread, second thread, and tube may be co-molded of thermoplastic (e.g., nylon) and the first and second thread may overlap one another. The outer surface includes a cylindrical portion and a recessed portion, the second thread being formed on the recessed portion. Attachment structures are secured to the fuel tube for mounting the fuel tube to a fuel tank. A first type of fuel cap is engaged with the first thread and a second type of fuel cap is engaged with the second thread. Vehicles with different types of fuel caps may be shipped to different geographic regions.
Coated stainless steel member
The present invention provides a method for producing a coated stainless steel member, comprising: performing Wood's strike nickel plating on a stainless steel substrate, and then performing cationic electrodeposition on a formed Wood's strike nickel plating layer.
