Arrangement structure for biological sensors

Non-contact biological sensors 1, 2 that detect biological information of a person by electromagnetic waves are provided in a seat 10 on which the person sits. The biological sensors 1, 2 are disposed in the seat 10 at positions away from members A1, A2, A3 (22, 32) which are the members, from among the members that constitute the seat 10, that interfere with the passage of electromagnetic waves. The biological sensors each have a first sensor 100 and a second sensor 200 that emit electromagnetic waves of different frequencies towards the person, and the first sensor 100 is disposed adjacent to the second sensor 200. Due to this configuration, it becomes easier to accurately detect biological information.

A seat system comprises a seat body on which a user can be seated; a plurality of sensors provided on or in the seat body or on a structure arranged around the seat body and configured to detect a touch operation by the user seated on the seat body; an output device configured to output at least one of sound, light, and vibration; and a control device configured to control the output device such that, when one or more of the sensors detect a touch operation, the control device causes the output device to generate a corresponding predetermined output.

SYSTEM FOR DETECTING DEFORMATION OF CUSHION PAD AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

The present invention provides a cushion pad with improved durability without feeling of a foreign object. The present invention thus provides a system for detecting a deformation of a cushion pad, comprising; the cushion pad comprising a magnetic elastomer in which magnetic filler is dispersed in an elastomer and an arithmetic average roughness (Ra) is 0.5 to 1.0 m, and a soft polyurethane foam which is integrated with the magnetic elastomer by adhesion, and a magnetic sensor that detects a magnetic change caused by a deformation of the cushion pad. The present invention also provides a production method thereof.

SEAT CUSHION LENGTH EXTENDER WITH SENSOR

Seats and methods for controlling a seat are described. A position of the user's leg is sensed relative to the position of the front of the seat. A determination is made as to if the position of the user's leg from a front of the seat is greater than a gap minimum. If the gap is greater than the gap minimum, a cushion length extender portion of the seat is moved until the sensed position is less than or equal to the gap minimum. In an example, the remainder of seat base is held in a fixed position within the vehicle environment. The gap minimum can be with the cushion length extender portion in slight contact with the user's leg. The sensor can be at a front face of seat. The sensor can be on the cushion length extender portion of the seat.

LED Crush Sensor

A sensor assembly for detecting crush of a compliant material. The sensor assembly includes a light source such as an LED, and a light sensor. In one implementation, the sensor assembly is used for detecting and impact of a motor vehicle with an external object or structure. Crush of the energy absorbing material, which may be provided in the form of an open or closed cell type polymeric foam is detected through a change in the intensity of the reflected back light received by the light sensor in response to compression of the energy absorber material. Other applications are contemplated.

OCCUPANT SENSOR AND SEAT WITH SUCH AN OCCUPANT SENSOR

An occupant sensor having a switching element, which comprises a top carrier layer and a bottom carrier layer separated by a spacer. The spacer has an opening defining an active zone in which the carrier layers may be brought together in response to a force acting on at least one of them. The switching element includes a first electrode and a second electrode arranged within the active area between the carrier layers such that an electrical contact is established between the first and second electrodes if the carrier layers are brought together. The occupant sensor includes a decoupling layer arranged on a top side of the switching element such that the decoupling layer covers the top carrier layer in the region of the active area. The decoupling layer and switching element are laterally displaceable with respect to each other in the region of the active area.

Described are passenger seat assemblies having a first seat structure (222) that includes a non-contact sensor or sensors (106a) and a second, movable or deployable passenger seat structure (226) that contains an embedded magnetic element or elements (236a). Each magnetic element interacts with the non-contact sensor such that the embedded magnetic element causes the non-contact sensor (106a) to switch between a first state and the second state, depending on the orientation of the second structure (226) with respect to the first structure (222). The sensor can detect whether the second passenger seat structure is positioned in a stowed configuration or a deployed configuration.
