Moreover, drive system 100 and, more specifically, the override system may be configured to restore normal operation to the disengaged link in response to power being restored (i.e., by reengaging the link).

Described herein are various embodiments for using a touch screen with polar coordinates thereon to control the movements of seats in a vehicle. An exemplary method of adjusting seats in a vehicle includes the operations of detecting a touching on a circumference of a circular graphic on a touch screen in a vehicle, wherein the circular graphic is in a polar coordinate system on the touch screen; and determining a polar angle formed by a point of the touching on the circumference of the circular graphic in the polar coordinate system. The method further includes the operations of calculating a first value and a second value associated with the polar angle, each of the first value and the second value representing a movement range in a direction; and adjusting a vehicle seat based on the first value and the second value, including simultaneously moving the vehicle seat in in a first direction indicated by the first value and a second direction indicated by the second value.

A vehicle seat and method for adjusting the vehicle seat uses a hinge mechanism (18), a guide mechanism (20), and a single actuation device (22) designed to function selectively either in a backrest control mode, acting on the blocking device (28) in order to move the blocking device (28) towards the release position, or in a track (30) control mode, acting on the locking device (36) in order to move the locking device (36) towards the unlocking position. The actuation device (22) is controlled by a user to cause the actuation device to function either in backrest control mode or in track (30) control mode.

VEHICLE SEAT

The vehicle seat includes: an adjustment position selecting means for selecting an adjustment position of each part of the seat corresponding to the build of the occupant; a seat position adjusting means for the occupant to manually adjust a position of each part of the seat; and a seat position detecting means for detecting a position of each part of the seat. Build information selected with the adjustment position selecting means and positional information detected with the seat position detecting means are transmitted to an electronic control unit provided in the vehicle by wireless communication or wired communication. In the electronic control unit, proper positional information of each part of the seat estimated based on the build information and the positional information are checked against each other. When both pieces of information agree with each other, the occupant is notified of the agreement through a notifying means.
