A fishing reel includes a spool capable of winding a fishing line, a detector capable of detecting the rotation amount of the spool, a storage that records the rotation amount of the spool as a detection result, and a transmitter that transmits the detection result to the outside, and is configured to select the casting mode when the detection result of the rotation amount of the spool is equal to or greater than a first threshold, and to select the drop mode when the detection result of the rotation amount of the spool is less than the first threshold.

A spinning fishing reel includes a housing, a line spool reciprocatingly moveable relative to the housing, a rotor rotatable relative to the line spool, a gear disc rotatably mounted inside the housing, and a handle assembly. The gear disc includes a shaft tube, and an internal thread portion and a stop portion both provided at an inner wall of the shaft tube. The handle assembly includes a handle and a drive shaft having a first end pivotally connected with the handle. The drive shaft has an external thread portion engaged with the internal thread portion of the gear disc in a way that the drive shaft is penetrated through an opening of the housing and inserted into the shaft tube of the gear disc, and a second end of the drive shaft is abutted against the stop portion of the gear disc.

A reel for fishing line or the like provides for extremely rapid payout by releasing the line to unwind by sliding rapidly around a guide surrounding the line spool and by rotation of the line spool itself. A fishing reel includes a spool capable of winding a fishing line, a spool brake that brakes the spool, and a spool braking force controller capable of controlling braking force from the spool brake, wherein the spool braking force controller is configured to have a receiver capable of receiving an instruction from an external device, and to set braking force based on the instruction as to the braking force received by the receiver from the external device.

The present disclosure disclosed a magnetic braking mechanism which includes a spool, a magnet assembly arranged on a side of the spool for generating magnetic induction lines, and a magnetic braking assembly connected to the spool and including at least two metal plates and a centrifugal adjusting assembly. The metal plates are disposed between the magnet assembly and the spool, and the centrifugal adjusting assembly is used for automatically adjusting spacing between the metal plates and an axis of the spool according to a rotation speed of the spool, so as to adjust range of the magnetic induction lines cut by the metal plates, thereby automatically adjusting magnitude of a braking force. Fishing reel components and a manufacturing method thereof that achieve not only highly accurate finishing dimensions, but also a deep and glossy metallic appearance while maintaining sufficient corrosion resistance at a precision finishing portion that rotatably supports a drive member, and that can increase the work efficiently of the entire surface treatment. The fishing reel components include a body member having a coating layer formed of higher-purity aluminum than that of the die-cast material on the die-cast material; and the anticorrosion layer formed by anodization on the coating layer. The body member is provided with the support portion that rotatably supports a drive member. The support portion independent from the body member is formed by the support member having a higher corrosion resistance than the die-cast material of the body member.

A fly-fishing reel having with a modular weight system for customizing the weight of the fly-fishing reel in order for an angler to use the fly-fishing reel with a variety of fly rods and still maintain a desired balance point and an integrated incremental meter device. The modular weight system allows the balance point of the rod and fly-fishing reel to be adjusted. The incremental metering device is adapted for keeping a tally of selected data, such as, though not limited to, the number of fish caught or released.
