Method and apparatus for operating a vehicle
A method, apparatus, system, vehicle, and/or computer program provides that one or more components of a vehicle are operated as a function of a predetermined pick-up time of the vehicle at a pick-up position of a parking facility in such a way that the vehicle exhibits one or more predetermined states at the pick-up position at the predetermined pick-up time.
Central electronic control unit for a vehicle
A central electronic control unit (ECU, Ref. 14) is provided for controlling at least one bi-directional direct current (DC) motor (106) attached to a first vehicle seat and at least one electronic device attached to a second vehicle seat. The central ECU includes a micro-controller configured to receive feedback on a positional status of the bi-directional DC motor from a Hall Effect sensor (130). The micro-controller is configured to receive input instructions for the bi-directional DC motor and the electronic device. The micro-controller creates command instructions based in part on the received feedback and received input instructions. The central ECU selectively provides pulse width modulated (PWM) power to the bi-directional DC motor attached to the first vehicle seat and selectively provides power to the electronic device attached to the second vehicle seat in response to the command instructions from the micro-controller.
Alighting assistance device and method
An alighting assistance device D of the present disclosure may be a device moving a driver seat rearward in a case where a determination may be made that an occupant seated on the driver seat of a vehicle alights. The device may include a height changer which changes a height of a steering wheel, a sitting height acquirer which acquires a sitting height of the occupant, and a steering wheel controller 33 as one example of a height controller which controls the height changer such that the height of the steering wheel becomes lower as the sitting height acquired by the sitting height acquirer may be higher in the case where a determination is made that the occupant alights.
Autonomous seat adjustment in a vehicle
A method for adjusting a seat in a vehicle includes adjusting the seat from an initial position to a passenger adjusted position based on receiving an input from a passenger. The method further includes determining the passenger exited the vehicle after adjusting the seat and predicting a likelihood of the passenger returning to the vehicle based on determining the passenger exited the vehicle. The method also includes adjusting the seat to the initial position based on the likelihood of the passenger returning is less than a passenger returning threshold. The method still further includes identifying a person approaching the vehicle after the passenger exited the vehicle based on information captured by one or more sensors of the vehicle. The method also includes adjusting the seat to a position associated with the previous passenger based on identifying the person approaching the vehicle as the previous passenger.
Group identity-driven system and method for adjusting an adjustable component of a vehicle
Systems and methods are disclosed for supporting and executing automated control of adjustable components of a vehicle based on occupant classification in a group identity database. Methods and systems for generating and employing the group identity database are also disclosed. Occupancy information may be utilized to determine how the group identity database is employed.
METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC CALIBRATION AND ASSOCIATED ACTUATION DEVICE AND SEAT
A method for automatic calibration of a device for actuating at least one element to be actuated in a structure, the actuation device comprising at least one actuator configured to actuate at least one corresponding element to be actuated. The method comprises the steps of: controlling the movement of each actuator to place each element in a predetermined reference position; and for each actuator: controlling the movement of the actuator in a first direction; if the value of a parameter associated with the actuator exceeds a first reference value, controlling the movement of the actuator in a second direction, opposite to the first direction; if the value of the parameter exceeds a second reference value, recording the position occupied by the actuator as the position of a first mechanical stop of the actuator.
ADJUSTABLE SEAT ASSEMBLY AND INPUT FROM A HEALTH CARE PROVIDER
A method to adjust a seat assembly transmits input indicative of a seating position of an occupant to a health care provider. Input indicative of a prescribed seating position is received from the health care provider. The seat assembly is adjusted to the prescribed seating position. Makes, models and seat assemblies are stored for various vehicles. Ranges of adjustments permitted for the seat assemblies are stored. A selection of a vehicle seat assembly is received. The ranges of adjustments for the selected vehicle seat assembly are outputted. The occupant is evaluated by a medical professional. A prescribed seating position for the occupant is determined. The prescribed seating position is transmitted to a seat assembly controller to adjust the seat assembly.
Seat control system
A seat control system for a vehicle includes a seat, a seat position changer, a door sensor, and a controller. When an occupant performs registration operation after an ignition switch is turned on, the controller is configured to: if the door sensor senses a closed state, store a current seat position of the seat as a driving position, in association with the information of the occupant; and, if the door sensor senses an open state, store the current seat position as a get-out position at a time when the occupant gets off the vehicle, in association with the information. After the registration operation is performed, the controller is configured to: change the seat position to the driving position by controlling the seat position changer before the vehicle travels; and change the seat position to the get-out position by controlling the seat position changer when the occupant gets off the vehicle.
VEHICLE ACCESS
A vehicle puddle lamp assembly including a housing, a lens coupled to the housing, and a printed circuit board mounted to the housing. At least one near-infrared light source to emit near-infrared light through the lens is coupled to the printed circuit board. A palm image sensor is also coupled to the printed circuit board. The palm image sensor is configured to detect a palm vein pattern illuminated by the near-infrared light and reflected from a user's palm through the lens.
Smart multi-contoured seat support system
A method of adjusting a vehicle seat support system is provided. In particular, the method includes receiving a user selection at an input device and detecting a mode type associated with the user selection. A plurality of seat support features disposed within a vehicle seat are then adjusted toward a support characteristic that corresponds to the detected mode type.
