In a vehicle seat including a first member and a second member allowed to turn relative to the first member to thereby shift between a first state in which the second member faces the first member and a second state in which the second member is farther from the first member than in the first state, a first electric device is provided in the first member, a second electric device is provided in the second member, a first electric wire is connected to the first electric device, a second electric wire is connected to the second electric device, and a tying part is provided which ties the first electric wire and the second electric wire together into a bundle. The tying part is fixed to the first member.

A system for electrically coupling a first structure with a second structure in a vehicle is disclosed, and includes a control module receiving at least one of electrical power and data, a cable, and a reel. The cable has a variable length and is electrically coupled to the control module. The cable transmits at least one of electrical power and data from the first structure to the second structure. The reel is located at the first structure and defines an axis of rotation. The cable is windable around the reel, and the reel is rotatable about the axis of rotation to adjust the variable length of the cable. The variable length of the cable is a portion of the cable that extends between the first structure to the second structure that is not wound around the reel.

The seat nodes receive power and commands from a plurality of power supply units, each of which is connected to a cabin management system. The seat nodes are able to monitor and control functionality at the seat, and communicate their status back to the cabin management system.

The technology can be embodied in a headrest that includes an enclosure that includes one or more acoustic transducers. The headrest includes a bar for mounting on a backrest of the seat, such that the mounted headrest is movable with respect to the backrest to different positions over an adjustable range. The bar includes one or more wires each of which is coupled to an electrical contact at one end, and an acoustic transducer at an opposite end, the one or more wires disposed within a hollow interior portion of the bar. The bar also includes an opening for permitting an electrical connection to be established between an electrical connector coupled to an external source, and the electrical contact coupled to the one or more wires. The connection is maintained over the adjustable range of the headrest by a mechanical bias on either the electrical connector or the electrical contact.

The electric wire is drawn out from the housing, retained by the slider and slidable within the fixed rail. The slider has an interference-avoiding portion for avoiding interference with the transmission member disposed so as to pass longitudinally through the interior of the fixed rail. Accordingly, the transmission member of the drive device and the slider for retaining the electric wire, which slides within the fixed rail, can be arranged in proximity to each other within the fixed rail while avoiding interference therebetween, thus enabling simplification and a reduction in the size of a rail structure.
