SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SEAT POSITIONING MODIFICATION IN A VEHICLE

Systems and methods for seat positioning modification in a vehicle are described. One embodiment of a method includes arranging a first movable seat in a default arrangement of a vehicle in preparation for receiving a passenger and determining an occurrence of an external triggering event to the vehicle. Some embodiments include, in response to determining the occurrence of the external triggering event, automatically rearranging the first movable seat to a second arrangement to accommodate for the external triggering event.

A vehicle seat is provided including at least first and second movable seat elements relatively to each other and at least one actuator ensuring a relative movement between both elements. The actuator includes a sensor for measuring a piece of representative information of the position of a first seat element relatively to a second seat element. The sensor includes an inclinometer secured to the first seat element. The piece of representative information of the position of the first seat element is an inclination of the first seat element.

VEHICLE SEAT POWER CONSUMPTION CONTROL DEVICE AND METHOD

A vehicle seat power consumption control device and method therefor, may reduce a voltage supplied to a heating wire or air blower provided in a vehicle seat based on at least one of a position of the vehicle seat, body information related to an occupant, and power consumption time (operation time of a heating wire or an air blower) of the vehicle seat to reduce power consumption of a battery while maintaining a sensory temperature of an occupant at a certain level, improving fuel efficiency of the vehicle. To this end, the vehicle seat power consumption control device may include a sensor that obtains an angle of a vehicle seat and a controller that adjusts a voltage supplied to an electric device provided in the vehicle seat according to the angle of the vehicle seat.

CAPACITIVE VEHICLE SEAT OCCUPANCY DETECTION SYSTEM WITH DETECTION OF VEHICLE SEAT HEATER MEMBER INTERRUPTION

A capacitive detection system for detecting occupancy of a vehicle seat includes a signal generating unit and a signal evaluation unit. The vehicle seat has a seat heater member configured for receiving time-varying output signals of the signal generating unit. The signal evaluation unit is configured to generate an output signal that is indicative of the seat heater member to be defective, if the sensed capacitance of the seat heater member is less than a second predetermined threshold value for the sensed capacitance.

A vehicle seat positioning system includes a seat occupancy sensor that generates a signal indicating the presence or absence of an occupant in each of a first vehicle seat and a second vehicle seat, a seat proximity sensor that generates a seat proximity signal indicating a distance between the first vehicle seat and an occupant of the second vehicle seat, and vehicle seat position controller configured to command the first vehicle seat to move away from the second vehicle seat in response to a signal from the seat occupancy sensor indicating absence of an occupant in the first vehicle seat and the presence of an occupant in the second vehicle seat and a signal from the seat proximity sensor indicating a distance between the first vehicle seat and the occupant of the second vehicle seat is less than a predetermined threshold distance.

Pivot fitting for a seat, in particular vehicle seat and a seat

A pivot fitting for a seat, in particular vehicle seat, is configured to adjust an inclination of the seat between at least a use position and at least a non-use position. The pivot fitting may have at least one detection unit which is configured to determine if the seat is in at least one of the use position, any intermediate inclined position or the non-use position.

Seat indexing systems and methods

A seat indexing system and method for an internal cabin of a vehicle include a seat assembly, and an indexing wheel coupled to the seat assembly. The indexing wheel is configured to be moved between a stowed position, in which the indexing wheel is disengaged from a seat track, and a deployed position, in which the indexing wheel engages the seat track.

PRE-ACTIVE SAFETY SEAT SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING PRE-ACTIVE SAFETY SEAT SPEED

A pre-active safety seat system applied to the vehicle implements a method for improving a pre-active safety seat speed, which confirms a risk region by matching a recline angle, a slide movement position, and a cushion tilt angle, which are detected from each of a plurality of sensors of a multi-seat sensor in a risk collision situation detected by a vehicle environment sensor of an ADAS, with a seat safety map, and combines and simultaneously controls a plurality of motors of a multi-seat motor configured for a seat target posture of a seat for converting the risk region into a safety region, by a controller, shortening a pre-active safety seat (PSS) required time of a seat target posture in the pre-active safety seat (PSS) operable section before collision of the vehicle from a risk detection.

VEHICLE SEAT

The vehicle seat includes: an adjustment position selecting means for selecting an adjustment position of each part of the seat corresponding to the build of the occupant; a seat position adjusting means for the occupant to manually adjust a position of each part of the seat; and a seat position detecting means for detecting a position of each part of the seat. Build information selected with the adjustment position selecting means and positional information detected with the seat position detecting means are transmitted to an electronic control unit provided in the vehicle by wireless communication or wired communication. In the electronic control unit, proper positional information of each part of the seat estimated based on the build information and the positional information are checked against each other. When both pieces of information agree with each other, the occupant is notified of the agreement through a notifying means.

A vehicle blind-spot reduction device includes side-view mirrors on sides of a vehicle, an actuator configured to move an optical display of each of the side-view mirrors, a detector configured to detect a display position of the optical display, a surrounding environment information acquirer configured to acquire environment information on surrounding of the vehicle, a moving object detector configured to detect a moving object running beside the vehicle on the basis of the surrounding environment information, a blind spot setter configured to set a blind spot of each of the side-view mirrors on the basis of the display position of the optical display, and a display surface adjuster. Based on determining that the moving object has entered the blind spot, the display surface adjuster causes the actuator to operate to adjust the display position of the optical display such that a driver who drives the vehicle can see the moving object.
