In or relating to organic compounds
A flavour composition comprising a compound according to the formula (I) or edible salts thereof, ##STR00001##
wherein R.sub.1 is alkyl residue containing 6 to 20 carbon atoms, or an alkene residue containing from 9 to 25 carbon atoms with 1 to 6 double bonds, R.sub.1 together with the carbonyl to which it is attached is a residue carboxylic acid, and NR.sub.2R.sub.3, in which R.sub.3 is H or together with R.sub.2 and the N-atom to which they are attached, a 5-membered ring, is a residue of an amino acid, in particular proteinogenic amino acid, ornithine, gamma-aminobutyric acid or beta alanine, or a 1-amino cycloalkyl carboxylic acid.
EXTRACTION CELL
An upward flow extraction method, apparatus, and extract are disclosed. The upward flow extraction method can comprise loading extraction material into an extraction cell having a bottom portion and a top portion; introducing a first aliquot of extraction medium through the bottom portion of the extraction cell; expelling gas from the extraction cell through the top portion of the extraction cell; closing the top portion of the extraction cell and increasing the pressure in the extraction cell as extraction medium flows into the bottom portion of the extraction cell; stopping the flow of extraction medium into the extraction cell; steeping the extraction material in the extraction medium under pressure to produce an extract; and introducing a second aliquot of extraction medium through the bottom portion of the extraction cell to push extract through top portion of the extraction cell.
Beverage displaying an edible printed design image thereupon, and a method for production thereof
The present invention discloses a beverage displaying a printed design image upon a foamed portion of the beverage. The invention further discloses a device and method for same. In the invention, an automated printer is used, comprising a movable printing head, loaded with an edible liquid ink, to print a design of interest upon the beverage foam. In some embodiments, the beverage is coffee and the liquid ink is a second coffee essence. The invention additionally discloses business methods comprising printing an advertisement upon a foamed portion of a beverage, or selling a beverage displaying a printed image upon a foamed portion of the beverage.
Appetite Suppressant and Method of Use
The present invention provides an appetite suppression composition added to coffee, whereby the composition includes a synergistic combination of egg yolk protein sugar and milk protein that imparts appetite suppression over 4-6 hours.
Mouthfeel modulation in reduced and sugar-free beverages using a blend of pectin and xanthan gum
This disclosure provides novel beverage compositions comprising a pectin, a first xanthan gum, and optionally a second xanthan gum. The beverage compositions are useful for improving mouthfeel properties of non-nutritive sweeteners such as steviol glycosides and blends thereof, in food and beverages containing the same.
BOBA WITH IMPROVED FLAVOR AND COLOR FEATURES AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING SAME
The disclosure relates to comestible capsules, methods of making the comestible capsules, and methods of using the comestible capsules food products (e.g., beverages) such as, for example, coffees, teas, refreshers, and waters. This abstract is intended as a scanning tool for purposes of searching in the particular art and is not intended to be limiting of the present invention.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DISPENSING A BEVERAGE ENRICHED WITH A GAS FROM A GAS PRESSURE VESSEL
In a method for dispensing a beverage in which a gas from a gas pressure vessel in which the gas is stored under pressure is mixed with the beverage, it is provided that the beverage is transported out of the storage container (2) by a pump (3) and that the pressure of the gas is lowered to less than 0.5 bar, more preferably less than 100 mbar, above ambient pressure and is fed to the aspirated beverage on the suction side of the pump (3).
Coffee machine with proportional pre-infusion system
A coffee machine includes: a filter holder suitable for containing at least one coffee dose; a dispensing unit with dispensing nozzles suitable for sending a flow of hot water on the coffee dose; a water system provided with a pump to supply pressurized water towards the dispensing nozzles; a heater to heat the water to be supplied to the dispensing nozzles; a dispensing valve to enable/disable the supply of hot water towards the dispensing nozzles; a pre-infusion valve installed upstream the dispensing valve; and a control unit comprising actuation means to actuate the pre-infusion valve. The pre-infusion valve is a two-way electrovalve of programmable proportional type.
SYSTEMS FOR CONTROLLED HEATING AND AGITATION FOR LIQUID FOOD OR BEVERAGE PRODUCT CREATION
Systems for controlled heating and/or agitation for liquid food or beverage product creation are disclosed. A dispenser for producing a food or beverage liquid product from a frozen contents in a receptacle includes a chamber configured to hold a receptacle containing the contents and a dilution liquid inlet configured to supply a dilution liquid to the interior of the receptacle. The dispenser also includes a perforator configured to perforate the receptacle and form a product outlet from the receptacle for the liquid product and an agitator configured to impart motion to the receptacle and/or the contents in the receptacle that increases a flow path from the liquid inlet to the product outlet taken by at least a portion of dilution liquid, when supplied, relative to a flow path from the liquid inlet to the product outlet taken by the portion of dilution liquid without the imparted motion.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PREPARING AN ICED TEA OR COFFEE BEVERAGE
The apparatus (300) comprising a cooling unit (310) containing a coolant, a product conduit (330), a cooling conduit (331), a coolant supply conduit (317), a coolant return conduit (318), a coolant bypass conduit (320), a coolant pump (319), one or more valves (321, 322), and a controller. The controller being arranged and configured to operate the apparatus in at least a primary mode and in a secondary mode. In the primary mode coolant is circulated around a primary cooling circuit comprising the cooling unit (310), the coolant supply conduit (317), the cooling conduit (331) and the coolant return conduit (318).
