Adjustable seat with entry tip slide plus pitch slide

A seat mounted on a slide slidable on a track. The track has comfort and entry zones. Pitch linkage mounts on the slide and supports a seat back. The linkage pivotally connects a seat back to the slide between recline and forward positions. A track latch fixes the slide to the track in a plurality of positions in the comfort zone. The entry zone is used to enter the vehicle. A forward stop blocks the slide from moving from the comfort to the entry zone. The forward stop moves between stop and release positions. The stop position blocks the slide from moving from the comfort to the entry zone. The release position does not block the slide from moving. A forward stop mechanism moves the forward stop into the stop position when the pitch linkage is in the recline position and the slide is in said comfort zone.

A system for manual repositioning a vehicle seat includes a rail and complementary slide, a seat moving orthogonally to the rail and a pivoting seatback. A slide sensor has first and second sensor portions integral to the slide and rail. The slide sensor measures distances between the first and the second sensor portions. A control unit connects to the first and/or second sensor portions and receives a distance signal proportional to sensor positions. A memory element stores a distance signal in a selected position. A signalling unit stores a preferred position of the slide relative to the chassis, measures relative movement between the slide and rail, compares the distance signal determined by the slide sensor in an actual position of the slide with a preferred distance signal, and emits a notification signal when actual preferred positions are coincident. Other arrangements are for height and reclination adjustment.

The lockout mechanism includes a lockout catch member connected to the backrest and a lockout hook connected to the seat base, which is pivotable between a locked position, with the lockout hook engaging the lockout catch member, and an unlocked position. A blocker member is connected to the seat base and is pivotable between a blocking position, with the blocker engaging the lockout hook to maintain the lockout hook in the locked position and an open position, with the blocker not engaging the lockout hook.
