A stadium seat having a seat back structure that is movable from a seat back forward position to a seat back rearward position. The seat back structure has an occupant contact surface. In the seat back forward position, the occupant contact surface has a planar contour. In the seat back rearward position, the occupant contact surface has non-planar contour.

Fitting for a vehicle seat, method for assembling a fitting for a vehicle seat, and vehicle seat

A motor vehicle seat fitting (10) includes a first fitting part (11) and a relatively rotatable second fitting part (12), which are connected to each other via a gear unit or can be locked. A third fitting part (74) is mounted on a bearing ring (71) in a pivotal manner about an axis (A) relative to the first fitting part. The bearing ring is fixed to the first fitting part. The third fitting part (74) can be locked with the first fitting part or a component rigidly connected thereto. A pawl (80) is mounted on the third fitting part in a first hinge point (D1). The bearing ring (71) has multiple run-on cams (71a) which interact with multiple elevations (74a) of the third fitting part. A free clearance, in the radial direction between the bearing ring (71) and the third fitting part, is minimized when the pawl (80) is locked.

Latch mechanism with locking feature

A latch mechanism is provided and may include a first plate, a second plate, a cam rotatably supported between the first plate and the second plate, and a plurality of pawls rotatably supported between the first plate and the second plate. The plurality of pawls are movable from an unlocked state to a locked state by the cam. The plurality of pawls each include a plurality of discrete locking members extending toward and received by respective notches formed in one of the first plate and the second plate.

Detent fitting for a vehicle seat, and vehicle seat

A detent fitting for a motor vehicle seat includes a first fitting part (11) and a relatively rotatable second fitting part (12) and catches (16) guided by one fitting part between a locked state and an unlocked state to lock the detent fitting upon interacting with a gear ring of another fitting part. A third fitting part (74) is pivotably mounted and is lockable with a detent plate (115) fixed to the first fitting part or with the first fitting part by a pawl (80) which is mounted in a hinge point on the third fitting part. The third fitting part, a locking cam (90) with a hinge point on the third fitting part, a coupling (98) connected to the locking cam with a hinge point and the pawl with a hinge point define a four-link chain. A vehicle seat with at least one such detent fitting is also provided.

POWER SEAT ASSEMBLY WITH SPRING LOADED SEATBACK DUMP AND MOTOR DRIVEN DESIGN REWIND AND RESET FUNCTIONALITY
20180015843 · 2018-01-18 ·

A seatback assembly pivotally supported upon a seat bottom and including each of forward spring assisted dump, rewind and reset protocols. A stationary sector is affixed to the seat bottom and has an abutment edge. A seatback sector is pivotally secured to the stationary sector and is influenced relative thereto in a forward rotating dump direction. A cam is rotatably supported upon the pivoting seatback sector, the cam having an outer engaging edge in abutting contact with the abutment edge for maintaining the seatback sector in an upright design position. A rotating sector plate is arranged in stacked fashion with the stationary and pivoting seatback sectors, the sector plate exhibiting a plurality of outer circumferentially arrayed teeth. A pinion gear extends from a pivot axis established between the cam and seatback sector, the gear engaging the outer arrayed teeth of the sector plate. Upon the cam being rotated out of engagement with the stationary sector, the seatback rotates to a forward dump position, with subsequent rotation of the pinion gear rotatably displacing the sector plate and the seatback in slaved fashion to retract the seatback to the upright design position, with a concluding and counter-rotation of the pinion gear counter-rotating and resetting the sector plate independently of the seatback sector to a final reset position.

Structural cam for latch

A latch for a vehicle seat may include a hooking component with a hook engagement surface, a first cam with a first cam engagement surface, and a second cam with a second cam engagement surface. The hooking component may be rotatable about a first axis and the first cam and the second cam may be rotatable about a second axis between an engaged position and an unengaged position. The hook engagement surface may contact at least one of the first cam engagement surface and the second cam engagement surface in the engaged position. One of the hook engagement surface or the first cam engagement surface may include a stepped surface extending incrementally from either the hook engagement surface or the first cam engagement surface.

Vehicle seating system

A system and method for controlling movement of a seat in a vehicle includes a lower seat assembly and an upper seat assembly adjustable relative to the lower seat assembly. An actuator assembly pivotally attached between the lower seat assembly and upper seat assembly selectively adjusts the upper seat assembly relative to the lower seat assembly between at least one upright position and at least one folded position. A control unit selectively actuates a motor and the actuator assembly to control movement of the upper seat assembly relative to the lower seat assembly. The control unit adjusts the position of the actuator assembly to releasably secure the motor in response to the position value detected by a sensor assembly to place the upper seat assembly in position relative to the lower seat assembly.

Vehicle seat and method for manufacturing the same

A vehicle seat includes paired right and left recliners; operating pins respectively inserted through the recliners in an axial direction, and rotated about axes thereof to respectively unlock the recliners; and a rod that integrally connects the operating pins. One operating pin includes an operating shaft portion inserted through, and connected to one recliner, and a connection portion that contacts the rod and is connected to the rod. An insertion depth of the operating shaft portion with respect to the one recliner can be changed by moving the operating shaft portion between a first position in which the connection portion contacts the rod to be connectable to the rod, and a second position in which the connection portion is away from the rod in the axial direction. The operating shaft portion is connected to the one recliner so as to operate the one recliner, in the first position.
