CHILD SEAT INSTALLATION ASSESSMENT
According to an embodiment, it is a system comprising, an information system of a vehicle operable to present step-by-step instructions to guide a user for installation of a child safety seat and a processor operatively connected to the information system operable to control a display of the step-by-step instructions, wherein the processor is operable to, recognize, via a sensor, a make, and a model of the child safety seat, generate a digital model of the child safety seat on the information system of the vehicle, and display the step-by-step instructions for the installation of the child safety seat.
CHILD SEAT INSTALLATION WITH VEHICLE BELT CHECKING DEVICE
A measurement device for checking installation of a child seat on a vehicle seat includes a guide portion disposed along a vehicle seatbelt path across the child seat. The measurement device further includes a sensor portion disposed within the guide portion, and measuring a quantity of perpendicular compressive force applied by the seatbelt to the child seat, and an indicator in communication with the sensor portion. The indicator informs an operator of the quantity of perpendicular compressive force applied by the seatbelt to the child seat relative to a predetermined yield threshold.
Car seat child-aware alert system and application
A system and application to alert parents or guardians to the solitary status of a dependent accidentally left within the confines of a vehicle is described. The system alerts individuals in the event that a dependent such as a child is left behind via the use of sensors configured to detect the presence of the dependent, and determine if he or she is alone. Upon recognizing that the dependent has been left alone, an alert is sent to the parent or guardian's wirelessly connected key fob and/or mobile device via a proprietary mobile application. Simultaneously, the system employs an active display sticker, configured to calm or entertain the dependent left within the vehicle until the alerted parent or guardian returns.
CHILD SEAT MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD
Embodiments include a vehicle comprising a user interface, a first sensor coupled to a child seat for detecting a child seat belt status; a gear selector for selecting a vehicle gear, and a processor communicatively coupled to the first sensor and the gear selector, and configured to cause the user interface to present a first notification if a first alarm condition is detected based on the child seat belt status and a selected gear. Embodiments also include a method of providing child seat monitoring in a vehicle, the method comprising receiving a gear position from a vehicle gear selector, receiving a child seat belt status from a first sensor coupled to a vehicle child seat, and presenting a first notification using a vehicle user interface if the gear position is a non-park position and the child seat belt status is unbuckled.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REMOVABLE VEHICLE SEAT SENSOR
Methods and systems for detection of removable vehicle seats may be used to indicate presence or absence of a child in the vehicle. In some examples, an alarm system includes a radio frequency (RF) transceiver and a removable seat magnetic coupling. Various actions are triggered when the parent (e.g., guardian) goes beyond a predefined range while the removable seat is within the vehicle, such as sounding an alarm on a mobile electronic device.
Restraint apparatus and method with alert
In embodiments, apparatuses, methods and storage media (transitory and non-transitory) are described that are associated with providing alerts to a caregiver in a vehicle. In various embodiments, an apparatus may include a first sensor coupled with a restraint to provide a restraint indicator, a second sensor coupled with a securing component to provide an attachment indicator, and an alert module operated by one or more processors to cause a wireless transmitter to transmit an alert signal based at least in part on the restraint indicator and the attachment indicator. In various embodiments, a warning apparatus may include an output device and a warning module operated by one or more processors to activate the output device based at least in part on a wireless alert signal from a car seat in a vehicle that indicates the car seat is in use.
SEAT SYSTEM WITH SENSOR AND USER INTERFACE
To provide a seat system that allows the information of the user seated in the seat to be acquired by another user, a seat system includes: a seat main body; at least one sensor provided in the seat main body; a control device for processing a signal from the sensor; and a first user interface communicating with the control device and notifying information based on a signal from the control device. Preferably, the sensor acquires information obtained from a seated person who is seated on the seat main body. Preferably, the seat system includes a camera for capturing an image of the seated person who is seated on the seat main body, and the control device causes the first user interface to display the image captured by the camera.
Vehicle occupancy indication safety system
A vehicular safety system includes a vehicle that has a plurality of seat belts, an alarm and an ignition. Each of the seat belts is operationally coupled to the alarm and the ignition. A car seat is provided that has a belt and a clasp. The car seat is removably positioned within the vehicle. A conductor is coupled to the car seat and the conductor is selectively electrically coupled between the clasp and one of the seat belts when the car seat is occupied. Thus, the alarm detects when the conductor is operationally coupled to the buckle. The alarm generates an alarm sequence when the ignition is turned off and the conductor is electrically coupled between the clasp and the buckle. The alarm sequence includes an audible alarm such that the alarm may inhibit an occupant from being inadvertently left in the vehicle. A switch is positioned within the vehicle such that the may be manipulated. The switch is electrically coupled to the alarm and the switch de-actuates the alarm when the switch is manipulated.
Unattended child detection system and method
A pressure-sensitive pad is installed either between a child car seat and the vehicle seat OR between the child and the child car seat that communicates with an alerting system. This pad includes a pressure sensor, a battery, a stored program computing system having a processor executing instructions from a, and communications system compatible with the alerting system. The alerting system is a wireless system that both measures a proximity of the responsible party to the pressure pad and issues an indication (e.g., one or more of an audio, visual, haptic, vibratory, and the like signal(s)) that a proximity (e.g., local geo-fence around the pad) distance has been exceeded AND that the child remains in the child seat. The alerting system may be installed in an alert system that is part of a portable electronic device (e.g., smartphone) or a special module (e.g., key fob).
Vehicular Occupancy Indication Safety System
