Portable Child Safety Seat with Five-Point Restraint
The present invention combines the benefits of a booster seat with those of a five-point restraint to provide a compact, portable, lightweight car seat with a five-point harness. The invention consists of a seat-bottom and a backplate. It provides simple installment using either LATCH or the vehicle's adult shoulder-lap belt, with infinite height adjustment of the child's shoulder harness anchors requiring only two belt-length adjusters. A criss-cross connection between seat-bottom and backplate reduces excursion and injury in side impacts. A double-loop connector minimizes incorrect installation. The child's harness has been completely rerouted to lower production cost and to reduce misuse of the restraint. The seat cover can be easily removed without the need to replace any belt webbing, and can be used as a storage compartment for the back-plate, five-point harness and tethers. The cover contains handles, such that it can be carried like a tote.

The seat shell has a seat portion, a backrest portion and a sidewall, the sidewall protruding forward from the backrest portion and having a front edge. The side protection part is disposed adjacent to the sidewall at an inner side thereof and extends along the inner side of the sidewall from a location adjacent to the seat portion toward a top of the backrest portion, wherein the side protection part has a first and a second major surface opposite to each other, and an edge portion connected with the first and second major surface, the edge portion having a rib that protrudes from the second major surface and lies adjacent to the front edge of the sidewall of the seat shell.
Child safety seat and side impact protection mechanism thereof
The present disclosure discloses an apparatus comprising: a backrest; a side impact protection block movably fitted to the backrest between a folding position and an unfolding position; and a self-locking structure fitted to the side impact protection block or the backrest, the self-locking structure being configured to block the side impact protection block in the unfolding position from switching to the folding position. The self-locking structure comprises a self-locking member and a self-locking reset member, the self-locking member being fitted to the backrest or the side impact protection block, the self-locking reset member being configured to apply a force to the self-locking member to drive it into an extended position that blocks the side impact protection block in the unfolding position from switching to the folding position.
Lateral protecting mechanism and child safety seat therewith
A lateral protecting mechanism is disposed on a lateral wing of a child safety seat. The lateral protecting mechanism includes a lateral protecting block and a protecting component. An end of the lateral protecting block is pivoted to the lateral wing. The lateral protecting block is movable between a using position and a folding position. The protecting component is slidably disposed on the other end of the lateral protecting block. The protecting component protrudes from a side of the lateral protecting block and is located between the lateral wing and the lateral protecting block when the lateral protecting block rotates away from the lateral wing and is located at the using position, and the protecting component is received in the side of the lateral protecting block when the lateral protecting block rotates toward the lateral wing and is located at the folding position.
