DEPLOYABLE ELONGATED MEMBER
A seat assembly includes a seatback, an elongated member, a pyrotechnic device, and a wire. The seat assembly may be in a vehicle. The elongated member is rotatably supported by the seatback. The pyrotechnic device is fixed relative to the seatback. The wire is connected to the elongated member and deployably attached to the pyrotechnic device.
VEHICLE SEAT WITH SIDE AIRBAG APPARATUS
In a vehicle seat, a gas generating device of a side airbag apparatus is attached to the inside of an outer side frame in a seat-width direction. When a seated occupant is a three-dimensional mannequin of AM50, a portion of the gas generating device overlaps a back pan of the three-dimensional mannequin as viewed in a seat front-rear direction. Here, in a plan section of a seat back in a range in which the gas generating device is positioned in a seat up-down direction, when an imaginary line overlapping a section of the back pan is moved back toward a seat rear side until the imaginary line comes into contact with a side spring portion of a seat back spring, the gas generating device is positioned rearward of a moved-back imaginary line in the seat front-rear direction and outward of the moved-back imaginary line in the seat-width direction.
VEHICLE OCCUPANT RESTRAINING DEVICE
The vehicle occupant restraining device includes: a three-point seatbelt device adapted to restrain a vehicle occupant, who is seated at a vehicle seat, by a shoulder belt portion and a lap belt portion of a seatbelt; a rear side restraining portion configured to be disposed at a seatback of the vehicle seat, and spanning between left and right side frames of the seatback, the rear side restraining portion being in a slack state and convex toward a seat rear side; and a pulling device that, by pulling at least one end portion side of the rear side restraining portion, reduces slack of the rear side restraining portion.
DUAL FUNCTION STOWABLE ARMREST
An armrest assembly for a vehicle includes a displaceable armrest element and a linkage assembly. The linkage assembly is configured for translating the displaceable armrest element between a deployed configuration and a folded configuration. The linkage assembly includes a spring-actuated pivoting over-center link configured to disengage the linkage assembly to allow the displaceable armrest element to rotate. An actuator is provided which on sensing an impact ruptures a frangible fastener holding the over-center link in a substantially parallel orientation to at least one drive link, thereby allowing the spring-actuated over-center linkage to pivot relative to the at least one drive link.
Energy absorbing seatback panel
A seatback includes a frame and a panel rotatably coupled to the frame. A support bracket is attached to the frame with a lever is rotatably coupled to the support bracket. The lever is configured to engage the panel with a frame supported actuator via a cable attached to the actuator and the lever.
Vehicle seat with a crash-modified panel holder
A panel holder made of at least one wire which features at least one element for fastening the panel holder to a fixed structure adjacent to the panel holder, and at least one element for fastening the panel holder to a panel. The wire forms a support bracket which in the assembled state of the panel holder and the panel is arranged in a critical region of the panel in which in the event of a crash, a strong crash force acts on the panel.
Passive occupant restraint for side-facing aircraft seats
In one aspect, a side-facing seat assembly is provided. The seat assembly includes a seat portion, a back portion having an upper surface extending along the width of the back portion, and an arm restraint assembly coupled to the back portion. The arm restraint assembly includes a rotating bar rotatable between a stowed position oriented with the back portion upper surface and a deployed position. In the deployed position the rotating bar extends from the back portion and facilitates restraining an occupant seated in the seat assembly. The seat assembly further includes a leg restraint assembly coupled to the seat portion. The leg restraint assembly includes an extension bar extendable between a stowed position oriented with the seat portion and a deployed position. In the deployed position the extension bar extends from the seat portion and facilitates restraining an occupant seated in the seat assembly.
Method for operation of a safety arrangement in a vehicle
A method is provided for operation of a safety arrangement in a vehicle. The safety arrangement comprises a seat belt, a seat belt retractor and at least one seat position adjustment arrangement for position adjustment of a seat of the vehicle and/or a portion of the seat. The method comprises a refraction of the seat belt by means of the seat belt retractor with a retraction force, and a pre-crash displacement of the seat and/or the portion of the seat resulting in a displacement force acting on the seat belt. The method further comprises adapting the pre-crash displacement and the refraction of the seat belt to each other by ascertaining that a combined seat belt force comprising the refraction force and the displacement force does not exceed a selectable level. The disclosure further relates to a safety arrangement for a vehicle and a vehicle comprising such a safety arrangement.
Armrest retractable upon an adverse event and seat assembly employing the same
The present invention in one or more embodiments provides a seat assembly of a vehicle, including a seat base, a seat back communicating with the seat base, an armrest communicating with at least one of the seat back and the seat base, and a pretension unit connected to the armrest such that the armrest is retractable upon activation of the pretension unit. The pretension unit may include a pretensioner, a pulley, and a cable.
Vehicle seat device
A vehicle seat device capable of suitably restraining an occupant by means of a seat belt device includes a seat main body having a seat cushion and a seat back, a reclining device connecting the seat back to the seat cushion so as to be pivotable and capable of locking a pivoting motion of the seat back, and a seat belt device for restraining an occupant seated on the seat main body. The seat belt device includes a lap belt restraining the occupant's lumbar or thighs, a belt anchor attached at a position beside the seat main body and having a belt engaging portion engaging with an engaged portion provided in a tip portion of the lap belt, and an anchor moving device capable of moving the belt engaging portion of the belt anchor in a seat front to back direction with respect to the seat main body.
