Armrest with cushioned component having an integrated air channeling system
An armrest assembly includes a body portion having a cushioned component, wherein the cushioned component includes first and second portions spaced-apart from one another. The cushioned component includes a porous lattice matrix. A duct assembly includes a main inlet and first and second outlets that are operably coupled to the first and second portions of the cushioned component, respectively. The duct assembly further includes first and second channels fluidically coupled to the first and second outlets, respectively. An air diverter member is pivotally supported between first and second positions and includes a channel disposed therethrough. The channel of the air diverter member opens into the first channel when the air diverter member is in the first position, and opens into the second channel when the air diverter member is in the second position for directing airflow to the first and second outlets, respectively.
Systems with hidden openings
A system such as a vehicle, building, vessel, aircraft, or electronic device system may have a layer of material with invisible laser-drilled openings. The layer of material may include an outer layer of fabric overlapping an inner layer such as an inner foam layer. Laser-drilled openings may include outer openings in the fabric layer and inner openings in the foam layer. Each of the inner openings may be overlapped by multiple outer openings. The exposed surface of the fabric layer may have strands of material of different appearances and/or may otherwise be configured to help visually hide the laser-drilled openings. Laser-drilled openings may also have small sizes to help make the laser-drilled openings invisible. Laser-drilled openings may overlap components such as audio components, heating and cooling components, and/or light-emitting components.
Vehicle seat air distribution device
An air distribution device that includes a seat plate. The seat plate includes one or more cushion engaging features. The one or more cushion engaging features are configured to engage one or more corresponding plate engaging features provided on a seat cushion of a vehicle seat.
VENTILATED ADJUSTABLE HEADREST
A ventilated adjustable headrest may include an adjustable metal insert, a nozzle fixedly attached to the adjustable metal insert. The nozzle may be in fluid communication with a perforated covering and one or more cushion elements. The nozzle may be telescopically coupled to one or more ventilation ducts. The one or more ventilation ducts may be configured to receive forced air from a ventilation system at an air inlet, and may be configured to deliver the forced air to the nozzle.
Temperature-controlled stroller
A stroller having a frame, a seat on the frame for receiving a child and a heating/cooling system operably coupled to the seat. The heating/cooling system includes a single heating and cooling element proximate the seat. A reversible compressor is operably coupled to the single heating and cooling element. A first coil operably coupled to the compressor. A reversible expansion valve is operably coupled to the first coil. The reversible expansion valve is operably coupled to the single heating and cooling element. A refrigerant circulates through the single heating and cooling element, reversible compressor, first coil and reversible expansion valve. The heating/cooling system provides a first operating configuration for cooling the seat by having the refrigerant within the single heating and cooling element absorb heat, and a second operating configuration for heating the seat by having the refrigerant within the single heating and cooling element dissipate heat.
SEAT CUSHION-EXTENSION VENTILATION WITH PRIMARY FAN
A seat comprises: a seat cushion including a first mesh; a seat extension configured to move into a closed position and an extended position relative to the seat cushion, the seat extension including a second mesh; a first conduit forming a first air channel between the first and second meshes in the closed and extended positions; and a fan configured to draw air from the first and second meshes using the first conduit.
VEHICLE SEAT WITH AIRFLOW OUTLETS
Various embodiments include illustrative vehicle seats, systems, vehicles, and methods for circulating airflow through a vehicle seat. An illustrative vehicle seat includes a cushion. The cushion is adapted to provide airflow therethrough. The cushion defines a primary airflow path directed to a primary outlet formed in a supporting portion of the cushion. The supporting portion of the cushion is adapted to receive direct body contact with a vehicle occupant while the vehicle occupant is seated within the vehicle seat. The cushion also defines a secondary airflow path directed to a secondary outlet formed in a non-supporting portion of the cushion.
VEHICLE SEAT AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A VEHICLE SEAT
The invention relates to a vehicle seat comprising at least one seat element in which at least one heating device and at least one ventilation device are provided. The vehicle seat comprises a sensor device, which has at least one temperature sensor and at least one moisture sensor. A closed-loop/open-loop control device controls the heating device and/or the ventilation device in an open-loop or closed-loop manner on the basis of the data from the sensor device with respect to the comfort parameters of temperature and/or moisture content, whereby the seat climate can be actively controlled in an open-loop or closed-loop manner.
Air flow for vent/cooled seating
A padding component for intelligent distribution of airflow in a vehicle seat, optimizing the sensation of airflow for the occupant. This includes a top layer, a bottom layer, and a fibrous layer interposed between the top layer and the bottom layer. The fibrous layer defines airflow channels having a first filament density and non-channel regions having a second filament density. Characteristically, the second filament density is greater than the first filament density such that air preferentially flow through the airflow channels.
VEHICLE AIR-CONDITIONING APPARATUS
A vehicle air-conditioning apparatus includes: a duct disposed in a seat of a vehicle, air flowing through the duct from an air conditioning unit; a rear seat outlet formed on a back face of a backrest portion of the seat to blow out the air from the duct toward a rear seat of the vehicle; and an air flow deflection member that partitions the rear seat outlet into a first region and a second region to define a first passage through which the air flows from the duct through the first region in a first direction in a vehicle cabin and a second passage through which the air flows from the duct through the second region in a second direction more downward than the first direction in the vehicle cabin.
