A method of fabricating a plenum insert for a vehicle seat includes the steps of providing an outer material layer having an edge, providing an inner spacer layer, placing the inner spacer layer material on the outer material layer, folding the outer material layer over the inner spacer layer such that the edge overlaps itself, and sealing the overlapping edge of the outer material layer to contain the spacer layer.

A seat cushion S1 of a vehicle seat S includes: a pad member 10 including a base pad 11 and an intermediate pad 12 overlapped on the base pad 11; a fan 31 provided so that air passes through the pad member 10; air passage holes 11h and 12h respectively formed in the base pad 11 and the intermediate pad 12; and a pull-in hole provided at a position different from the air passage hole 12h in the intermediate pad 12 and a position of the intermediate pad 12 with respect to the base pad 11 is held in such a manner that a skin pull-in trim cord enters the pull-in hole while the intermediate pad 12 is overlapped on the base pad 11 so that the air passage holes 11h and 12h communicate with each other.

A duct attachment molded within a cellular foam pad is disposed between an air duct and an internal air flow channel of an automotive seat assembly for increasing the air flow between the air duct and the seat assembly. The duct attachment is insert molded within the foam pad which provides a mechanical connection and a seal between the duct attachment and the foam pad and reduces the potential for air leaks between the duct attachment and the foam pad.

A seat and cooling system for the seat include a porous seat surface, an air spacer disposed on a side of the seat surface that defines an air channel, a substantially air impermeable barrier having an opening therein in communication with the air channel and a blower configured to draw air through the seat surface and from the air channel. Air drawn from around an occupant on the seat surface draws moisture from the occupant, causing moisture to evaporate, to provide a cooling sensation

The thermal system includes a seat insert; a connector having a first portion at least partially located within the seat insert; and an air mover connected to the seat insert via the connector. The air mover is adapted to generate an air flow within the insert. The first portion of the connector includes one or more air directors within the insert that are configured to change a direction of the air flow within the insert.

An air distribution system that includes a plenum. The plenum has a top layer having one or more top layer corrugations; a bottom layer having one or more bottom layer corrugations; and an open space formed between the top layer and the bottom layer. The one or more top layer corrugations and the one or more bottom layer corrugations are spaced apart and oppose one another, and when the plenum flexes, the one or more top layer corrugations contact the one or more bottom layer corrugations.

A vehicle seat includes: a chamber in which at least a seat-front-surface side is covered with a pad and which circulates the air blown from a front surface of a seat through the pad; a fan configured to send air into the chamber; and a support body which supports the chamber so as to be able to sink in an acting direction of a load applied to the surface of the seat. The chamber includes a first region and a second region, and the first region and the second region are configured to allow subduction of the chamber independently of each other.
