Bow fishing reel with reduced friction payout
11340038 · 2022-05-24 · ·

A reel suitable for bow fishing and the like provides a cowling covering a reel with a wide opening to reduce frictional restraint on high-speed paying out of the line with the flight of the arrow. An optional guide arm may be used to minimize line diversion and hence friction during line payout while absorbing forces when the line is retracted permitting use of a lighter cowling design without loss of strength. A high torque bevel gear transmission and safety lighting is further provided.

Spinning type fishing reel with bi-directionally rotating rotor and drag control to prevent line twist
11737440 · 2023-08-29 ·

A fishing spinning reel that eliminates problems associated with line twist by providing a rotor adapted for both forward and reverse rotation wherein a drag assembly applies drag to the rotor using an adjustable cam mechanism to prevent the rotor from imparting twist on the line when in the winding mode. By enabling the rotor to rotate in a reverse direction with the application of drag the present invention prevents line twist when fighting a fish by allowing the rotor to rotate in a reverse direction to let out line and/or to remain stationary as the handle is cranked thereby preventing the rotor from imparting twist on the line.

A spinning reel includes a spool shaft, a handle, a pinion gear, a first intermediate gear, a second intermediate gear, and a reciprocating mechanism. The first intermediate gear is rotatably disposed around a first shaft parallel to the spool shaft. The first intermediate gear includes a first large-diameter gear which meshes with the pinion gear and a first small-diameter gear which integrally rotates with the first large-diameter gear. The second intermediate gear is rotatably disposed around a second shaft parallel to the first shaft. The second intermediate gear includes a second large-diameter gear which meshes with the first small-diameter gear and a second small-diameter gear which integrally rotates with the second large-diameter gear. The reciprocating mechanism includes a driven gear which meshes with the second small-diameter gear and reciprocates the spool shaft in the front-rear direction.

MAGNETIC LEVITATION SPOOL ASSEMBLY FOR ICE FISHING TIP-UPS

A dual-bearing reel configured to feed a fishing line forward is disclosed. The dual-bearing reel includes a reel body and a handle. The reel body has a first side plate, a second side plate, and a connecting portion. The first side plate includes a circular portion having a circular shape, and a bulging portion bulging forward and downward from the circular portion. The second side plate is circular and disposed apart from the first side plate. The connecting portion connects the first side plate and the second side plate. The handle is rotatably mounted on the first side plate. A first central axis of the circular portion of the first side plate is offset forward and downward from a second central axis of the second side plate.

Replacement fishing line cartridge and method of replacing fishing line
11317615 · 2022-05-03 ·

The present invention relates in general to the field of rod-and-reel fishing, and more specifically, to a cartridge for holding new fishing line while at the same time providing a convenient storage mechanism for retrieving, holding and disposing of old, worn-out fishing line. One aspect of the replacement fishing line cartridge includes an outer spooling portion and an inner spooling portion. The inner spooling portion may be detachably snapped, slid or locked into the outer spooling portion. The outer spooling portion may be configured to hold new fishing line. The inner spooling portion may be configured to hold old fishing line, wherein the inner spooling portion fits inside the outer spooling portion to prevent the old fishing line from detangling. In this manner, the replacement fishing line cartridge may be used to conveniently dispose of and/or recycle old fishing line in a compact manner. The purpose of the invention is to provide a replacement fishing line cartridge and method of replacing fishing line that is convenient, disposable and environmentally friendly.
