The supported member includes a supported portion that is disposed inside the support hole, and an inclined portion that is disposed outside the support hole and is formed so that an outer diameter decreases toward the support hole. The seal member is elastically deformable. The seal member is disposed in contact with an end face around the support hole and an outer peripheral surface of the inclined portion.

A line guide mechanism for a spinning reel includes a bail support member movably connected to one of the pair of rotor arms, a fixed shaft fixed to the bail support member, a line roller rotatably supported by the fixed shaft to guide the fishing line to the spool, a bail having an end supported by the bail support member via the fixed shaft to guide the fishing line to the line roller, a cover member on the end of the bail to cover a part of the line roller, and a projection member on the bail support member and having a line slack prevention portion including a first part extending in an axial direction of the fixed shaft and facing the line roller in a radial direction of the fixed shaft closer to an axis of the fixed shaft than an outer peripheral surface of the cover member.

A casting evaluation device includes a frequency derivator and a casting evaluator. Thee frequency derivator derives a frequency of sound or vibration based on an output of a sensor that detects the vibration or the sound that accompanies the release of a fishing line from a spool of a fishing reel. The casting evaluator evaluates prescribed evaluation items related to casting based on the frequency derived by the frequency derivator.

A cover for the end of a fishing reel provides a user with a clean and attractive cover for scratches and other damage. Several versions are described: a first cover which replaces an insert and a second which covers the entire end of the reel. The cover is opaque such that it hides scratches and is easily removed or replaced with another cover.
