Seat backrest
A seat backrest includes right and left side frame segments, a pressure receiving member disposed between the side frame segments movably in a front-back direction, and a cushion pad covering the front of the side frame segments and pressure receiving member. The pressure receiving member includes a main body part, and extending parts extending laterally from both sides of the main body part. The cushion pad includes a back receiving part covering the front of the main body part, and bank parts disposed on both sides of the back receiving part, protruding forward from both sides, and covering the front of the extending parts and side frame segments. A recess is formed at an area, facing a corresponding extending part of the extending parts, of a rear surface of each bank part.
Back cushion module for a vehicle seating assembly
A vehicle seating assembly includes a seating frame defined by a seatback frame and a seat frame. A plurality of distinct assembly modules are configured for attachment with the seating frame. The plurality of distinct assembly modules include a back cushion module, a hard back module, a seat cushion module, and a headrest module. The back cushion module and hard back module are operably coupled together. The headrest module extends over and operably couples the back cushion module with the seat cushion module to substantially encompass the seating frame. The seat cushion module is positioned on the seat frame in front of the seatback frame. First and second side trim pieces are configured to extend over the seat frame concealing side portions of the seat cushion module.
Vehicle seat assembly with side-impact airbag deployment mechanism
A vehicle seatback assembly includes an outer shell coupled to a seatback carrier via a releasable coupling arrangement. The releasable coupling arrangement can take various forms in order to securely couple the outer shell to the seatback carrier. A seatback frame is disposed between the seatback carrier and the outer shell in assembly. An airbag module is coupled to the seatback frame, and the releasable coupling arrangement is configured to release upon deployment of an airbag from the airbag module to define a peripheral gap between the outer shell and seatback carrier through which the airbag can be deployed.
SEATBACK WITH COLLAPSIBLE INTERNAL SUPPORT UNIT
A seatback for a vehicle seat includes a frame and a coverstock defining a seat surface. The seatback also includes a unitary, flexible internal support unit positioned between the frame and the coverstock. The support unit is moveable between an expanded configuration, in which the seating surface is supported over the frame at a first distance, and a collapsed configuration, in which the seating surface is supported over the frame at a second distance that is less than the first distance.
Value assembly for seatbacks and cushions
A method of assembling a vehicle seat assembly is provided. The method comprises the steps of providing a preassembled front seatback module and a seatback frame. The method further includes assembling a seatback assembly by coupling the front seatback module to a preassembled rear seatback module around and interconnected to the seatback frame. The method further includes providing a preassembled seat module and pivotally coupling the seat module to the seatback assembly. The assembly method further includes coupling the seat module to a seat frame, and further coupling a preassembled headrest module to an upper portion of the seatback assembly.
Cable apparatus
A cable apparatus is disposed between a handle and an actuator to transmit movement of the handle to the actuator. The handle includes a handle housing defining a housing chamber and an operation lever supported by the handle housing so as to be pivotable about a first axis. The cable apparatus includes a case housed in the housing chamber, a cable having a first end disposed in the case and a second end connected to the actuator, and a link lever supported by the case so as to be pivotable about a second axis. The link lever is connected to the first end of the cable in the case, and is displaceable by pivoting the operation lever.
OCCUPANT SUPPORT SYSTEM
A vehicle seat includes a seat bottom and a seat back. The seat back is coupled to the seat bottom to move relative to the vehicle seat. The vehicle further includes a support mechanism coupled to the vehicle and configured to vary support provided to an occupant sitting on the vehicle seat.
Seat Assembly Having a Thoracic Support Mechanism
A seat assembly having a seat back and a thoracic support mechanism. The thoracic support mechanism may have a flex plate that may be movably disposed on a support member of the seat back frame. A first actuator may flex the flex plate. A second actuator may actuate the flex plate along the support member.
Seatback with collapsible internal support unit
A vehicle seat includes a cushion and a seatback rotatably coupled with the cushion, the seatback defining a height. The seatback further has an internal support unit with a connecting member extending through a portion of the height and a plurality of flexible ribs extending from the connecting member to ends fixed with the seatback. A link couples the connecting member with the cushion to move the connecting member along the height by rotation of the seatback.
LUMBAR SUPPORT SYSTEM
An adjustable support system for a seat having a fixed frame includes a support movable from a first position to a second position relative to the frame. An actuator is coupled to only the support and is configured to move the support between the first and second positions. A member is operatively associated with and movable by the actuator. A flexible cable has a first end coupled to the member for travel along the length of the member and a second end coupled to the fixed frame such that movement of the member by the actuator causes the flexible cable to move the support between the first position and the second position.
