Vehicle seat assembly with side-impact airbag deployment mechanism
A vehicle seatback assembly includes an outer shell coupled to a seatback carrier via a releasable coupling arrangement. The releasable coupling arrangement can take various forms in order to securely couple the outer shell to the seatback carrier. A seatback frame is disposed between the seatback carrier and the outer shell in assembly. An airbag module is coupled to the seatback frame, and the releasable coupling arrangement is configured to release upon deployment of an airbag from the airbag module to define a peripheral gap between the outer shell and seatback carrier through which the airbag can be deployed.
BACK CUSHION MODULE FOR A VEHICLE SEATING ASSEMBLY
A vehicle seating assembly includes a seating frame defined by a seatback frame and a seat frame. A plurality of distinct assembly modules are configured for attachment with the seating frame. The plurality of distinct assembly modules include a back cushion module, a hard back module, a seat cushion module, and a headrest module. The back cushion module and hard back module are operably coupled together. The headrest module extends over and operably couples the back cushion module with the seat cushion module to substantially encompass the seating frame. The seat cushion module is positioned on the seat frame in front of the seatback frame. First and second side trim pieces are configured to extend over the seat frame concealing side portions of the seat cushion module.
OCCUPANT PROTECTION DEVICE
An occupant protection device including: a side support section; a lumbar support section that is provided to the width direction intermediate portion of the seatback, and that has a support face displaceable between an advanced position pressing the lumbar region and a retreated position further to a seatback rear side than the advanced position; a displacement mechanism that displaces the support face of the lumbar support section between the advanced position and the retreated position; a side collision prediction section; an actuation controller that, in a case in which a vehicle side-on collision has been predicted by the side collision prediction section in a state in which the support face of the lumbar support section is not at the retreated position, controls the displacement mechanism so as to displace the support face of the lumbar support section to the retreated position.
Vehicle seat subassemblies
Seat assemblies and subassemblies are disclosed. The subassemblies include massage and/or ventilation subassemblies that employ tubeless air distribution by fixing sheets together such as by heat-staking. The subassemblies also include a support structure for preassembling the massage, ventilation, and/or electronic components together prior to suspending them in a seat assembly.
Custom controlled seating surface technologies
A system of controlling various actuators associated with human support surfaces is disclosed. Such a system is made up of a support surface, a controller, and an actuator. The system may optionally include batteries, a means of charging the batteries, and a graphical user interface as well as a communication link between the graphical user interface and the support surfaces. The actuators are capable of altering contour and/or firmness, of a support surface, they may be vibrational or heating/cooling in nature, and they may also alter the overall relative position of a support surface to another support surface, and/or to the ground plane.
SEAT
A seat has a cushion body that elastically supports a seater and a back frame that supports the cushion body from a back side of the seat. The cushion body has a main top panel pad that serves as a cushioning portion. A main top panel resin member is provided on a back side of a pad of the main top panel pad, and the main top panel resin member is fixed to the back frame. A secure attachment clip is assembled to the main top panel resin member. The secure attachment clip is placed in a tuck-in groove formed on the back side of the pad of the main top panel pad.
Back support device and vehicle seat
A back support device, comprising: a frame portion provided at a seat on which a seated person is seated, the frame portion including a locked portion at an upper portion of the frame portion; an upper frame portion fixed to the upper portion of the frame portion and extending in a seat width direction below the locked portion; a lumbar support portion engaged with a lower portion of the frame portion and configured to support a waist of the seated person from a seat rear side; and a pressure receiving portion including, at an upper end portion thereof, a locking portion locked to the locked portion, the pressure receiving portion being supported by the upper frame portion and the lumbar support portion from the seat rear side, and being configured to be deformable by receiving a load from a back of the seated person.
Vehicle seat
A vehicle seat includes a seat cushion and a seatback. The vehicle seat has a plate-shaped pressure-receiving member configured to receive a load from an occupant seated on the vehicle seat and a radio wave sensor fixed to the pressure-receiving member. The radio wave sensor is configured to acquire information about the occupant by emitting radio waves toward the occupant and detecting the radio waves reflected off the occupant. The pressure-receiving member includes a plurality of first ribs that protrudes from a backside of the pressure-receiving member, which is a side facing away from the occupant, in a direction away from the occupant, and a plurality of second ribs that protrudes from the backside in a direction away from the occupant, the plurality of second ribs crossing the plurality of first ribs. The radio wave sensor includes at least one fixing part that is fixed to the pressure-receiving member. The at least one fixing part includes a first fixing part that is fixed to a surrounded area that is surrounded by the plurality of first ribs and the plurality of second ribs on the backside.
